not watching it - but it sounds like the refs are trying to keep a chippy game from getting out of hand...
I am watching it, and they are trying to turn it into two-hand touch football (and the idea you can stop on a dime right when the ref blows his whistle).

Holy crap. One phone call and a daughter waking up from a nap and the score is 28-17 at the half. Didn't get to see what happened.

Haven't had the opportunty all year to be critical of the the officials, but this crew is terrible. A bunch of the PF on both teams really were good football plays. This crew would have had a blast calling all the supposedly "personal foul" penalties in the Oregon State game.

Montana (Stoll) intercepts the ball and returns it to the Montana 15. Penalty takes it back to 30.

Mariani makes an amazing catch for TD, only to have the refs (incorrectly) say he didn't catch the ball.

Really was great to see the Griz pull away from an early season opponent, especially after the quick two touchdown deficit. If they keep up this momentum, and get rid of the stupid penalties (too many PF calls today), this team could surprise.

I was at the game, and had a blast...kinda' hard not to when you're hangin' out with Griz Chick, Pols, and Ursus...well, at least Griz Chick, and Ursus anyway!

It was good to see what appeared to be Griz football again! The last time I can remember seeing it was when we played JMU, last season. I know it was only one game, but things might be coming together for us.

I don't know what the temp was in the stands, but it was hot as fuck, and I heard that it was 106 degrees on the field.

I respect what the officials do, blah, blah, blah. I know they're there for a reason, and I usually don't complain about them, but this group was a real piece of work...for both sides!

Anyway, a great first quarter if you are a Viking fan and a great final three quarters if you are a Griz fan. Losing Punzal in the first quarter was a huge blow for our team and our offensive line. Good hitting and emotion from both sides. We had some good things, especially on those first two drives and some things that we need to work on (personal fouls, phantom or not, still need to be dealt with). Great experience for our youngsters to take part in a game at Wash-Griz. We can't dwell on this as we have Weber coming to Portland next week. Good win to the Griz, today.

Weber and psu will be a good game. What was the score of that game last year...? or was it two years ago but it was pretty high.

That was 2 years ago. Weber won 73-68. PSU's Drew Hubel threw 9 TD passes while Weber put up 687 yards of offense. I believe that's still the DI record for points but another game broke the all-divisions record a couple weeks later (Hartwick beat Utica 72-70 in 4 OTs).

The game actually has a Wikipedia entry.

Last year was more respectable...

Weber State 31
Portland State 21

Two years ago, the score of the football game equaled the score of the first basketball game both teams played, right down to the winner. (Weber 73-68 in football, Weber 73-68 in basketball).
