Brock has done zero currently to merit an extension and he has been vocal about saying this year is a playoff season. The season ticket base has plummeted from a peak of over 11,300 to a meager 5,400. If the new AD & President decide to "wait things out" its certain to be used against UD from a recruiting standpoint. There really aren't any positives about bringing Brock back for his last season on his deal other than saving the approximate $400K salary he's paid.

It's been 3 mediocre to poor years so far, clock's ticking IMHO, he needs to win - this year.
Times yours..
Traditionally coaches.... never leave UD. The administration has as much to do with the poor ticket sales as anyone.
Monte Ross? Keeler?

I should have said football. Keeler was extenuating circumstances. I'm just saying, no action would not be surprising to me. Would you be shocked if the Hens went 6-5 and Brock wasn't let go?

If he's getting close to that much (even counting base + incentives & extras) then he is way overpaid....

This is a good summation of the powerful running game from both teams with comments from both head coaches.

It would take an historically bad year for a UD coach to be flat out kicked to the curb, I mean DSU levels of bad.

The problem (benefit?) is that UD stacks the deck to avoid that from happening with their scheduling. Two or three guaranteed home wins OOC every year, and any mediocre coach can get 3 wins in the CAA, especially at a school that has the history of Delaware.

Public records showed he was paid a base salary of $391K in 2014, you have to figure even meager increases push him over 400 two years later.

Henzone over on GoHens already thinks Brock is a certainty to be back, playoffs or no playoffs. He tends to simply be a mouthpiece from the administration so take it for what it's worth. He tends to post what he's told to post.

Yea he's been saying that since before a new Pres & AD came aboard though. He is a jock-sniffer, I've seen him in action with Brock. We'll see how it plays out come November but I don't know what it'd say about Brock to want to come back on a lame duck year esp after all but guaranteeing a playoff year.

Hopefully he just makes the playoffs this year, but that may require nobody waking me up. :coffee: :kisswink:

He's been fine being the coach of a non-competitive team for the past few years, I don't think he gets all that much worried about the product on the field. Head coach on the resume and money in his pocket - not a bad gig if you can get it.

That was a joke of a game.

2 weeks to prepare and the team was lost from the get go.

Fire Brock now!

I think JMU wins but UD covers and game is Under..
JMU by 3 TDs, if UD scores over 20 I'd be impressed.

I can't say I was upset by Saturday's events. I thought UD would lose, had it 28-20. I took UD and the points & the under so that was basically a wash. UD isn't a good team. We all knew the offense has issues - one dimensional, pass blocking below average, WR's terrible & the QB also below average. But, the defense really disappointed. Our LB's I believe are decent but and the jury is still out on the DB's but the DL has underachieved big-time.

The architect of the team though is the one to shoulder the blame. Rawak & Assanis need to do the UD community of football fandom a solid & make a change before Thanksgiving.

Yeah, you'all were right. And it was even more lopsided than the final score, as JMU was up 40-7 early in the 4th qtr. I had predicted 31-21 on the JMU board. Some game media:

What's crazy is that there are still Delaware posters saying things like:

If they don't turn this around and get to seven wins...

I thought this was going to be the year that Brock finally got all his horses firing on all cylinders...

I had high hopes for Brock and was willing to give him the time....

Brock is a great recruiter, so let's get these guys gelling...

No, dumb asses. This guy should have been fired in year two. He proved very early that he can't coach his way out of a wet paper bag. He is overwhelmed and can't motivate kids on gameday. And all this supposed talent he's recruiting produces like a guy with a vasectomy. With a good coach you see glimmers of hope in year one and things changing by year two. This fucker has been nothing but steady regression for four years, followed by two years of regression by the previous coach. It's over. He gotta go!

He should have been fired Saturday night. They should have put his shit in a box and left it outside his office with new locks on the door.

yes I would. He has no contract after next year and has not earned an extension.
