If it ain't a top 10 FBS team then fuck it, I go with the Bison right now.
Even then, I'm not sure I wouldn't pick a Bison win anyway. That's just regular season too so in the playoffs, not even close.

The only reason they have that many wins is because we respect that number and wanted it that way.AZGrizFan wrote:89Hen wrote: Beating a I-A team (especially in-state) > beating a I-AA team in the regular season IMO (unless they are your in-state rival like Montana/MSU). Now, I would rather the Hens beat Delaware State than a I-A team, but only because the loss to DelSt would be unbearable.
As I said earlier in this thread, Montana does not have an in-state rival. 73-37.![]()

It was a win over Maryland versus a win over the five time defending FCS champs. You'd rather beat Maryland than URI? No shit???andy7171 wrote:Troof, is the troof! You have no concept of playing I-AA football in a state with 2 NFL teams and I-A teams.Grizalltheway wrote:

With the number that way...they can claim they are a mirror image of us I guess.

Beat Maryland, no contest.

I can understand that, but it also strikes me as a "little brother" mindset. Kind of like how MSU could go 1-10, but as long as the one win was against the Griz, Cat fans would be okay with the season.andy7171 wrote:Oh. RIF is not my specialty.kalm wrote:

Torson is the little brother and the only place I think that 1-10 thing might apply is Army/Navy. No fans are OK with a 1-10 season.Grizalltheway wrote:I can understand that, but it also strikes me as a "little brother" mindset. How would it not be a little brother scenario?Grizalltheway wrote:I can understand that, but it also strikes me as a "little brother" mindset. I would guess that 95% of football fans in Maryland have no idea that NDSU has won 5 NCs. And that the headline (on page 5 of the Sun/Post Sunday morning) would have anymore meaning to readers as if it said Towson upsets Catholic University.

It's tough to have a little brother complex when Montana doesn't have a big brother. It's why they're such an unruly bunch of douches with no one to smack them around or keep them in check.89Hen wrote:Ursus A. We've both clearly said it IS.
That said, what non-FCS fans in-state think is not a reason for me to say beating WSU would be more significant. It wouldn't, they're just ignorant.

If I was an EWU fan I'd want to beat my AD for making scheduling the 1st 4 games, with no byes to boot:
9/3/2016 @ Wash State
9/10/2016 @ NDSU
9/17/2016 UNI
9/24/2016 @ NAU (preseason pick to win Big Sky?)

JMU Football:
4 Years FBS: 40-11 (.784). Highest winning percentage & least losses of all of G5 2022-2025.
Sun Belt East Champions: 2022, 2023, 2025

You guys did a decent job of it for a couple years there, but it appears that order in the Big Sky universe has been restored.kalm wrote:It's tough to have a little brother complex when Montana doesn't have a big brother. In-state FBS programs are big brothers. Conference rivals who beat you the last 5 out 7 are peers you look up to.Grizalltheway wrote:You guys did a decent job of it for a couple years there, but it appears that order in the Big Sky universe has been restored.kalm wrote:

Other than that, it's been pretty bleak for both of y'all.
