So would Youngstown State and Western Illinois... Maybe even Missouri StateEWURanger wrote:I agree that 6 DI wins is not enough, and ultimately ISU's scheduling was to blame for their being left out. That is not a formula for success to make the playoffs, particularly if you know you're probably going to drop at least a couple conference games.
That said, Idaho State would probably smoke a handful of the teams in this field. It is what it is.

I'll jump in with my 2 cents.
Idaho State should have gotten in the playoffs, particularly over Indiana State. Yeah you can claim they have a "weak schedule", but the team nor the AD is in 100% control of who they play as many teams will not even entertain the idea of playing them. But with all the teams out there, Idaho State nearly knocked off EWU and Montana State. They are clearly a playoff caliber team, and got screwed out of a chance to prove how good they really are.

They were pretty even going into the selection.GoldenBobcat wrote:I'll jump in with my 2 cents.

Idaho St best wins: Cal Poly & Sac St, 6-4 D1 record, close losses to EWU(3 pts) and MSU (5 pts)
Indiana St best wins: UNI, Liberty, YSU and FBS Ball St, 7-5 D1 record, close loss to Illinois St(2 pts)
IMO, Indiana St has a better resume.

Not just a close loss to Illinois State - the Red Birds needed a field goal with 3 seconds left to pull that W out.Gil Dobie wrote:They were pretty even going into the selection.GoldenBobcat wrote:I'll jump in with my 2 cents.
