ranked very high nationally in all categories, allowing an avg of 235 ypg. And JMU schredded them for 513 yds (314 passing, 199 rushing) (and that was despite having a 38 yd TD pass to #10 called back due to holding).
Highlights:

Besides Vad Lee passing going for 20 of 33, 314 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INT, he netted 56 yds rushing (12 carries, 80 yds, 4 sacks -24 yds).

Lee is now putting up MONSTER #s. He now has 3,352 yds Total Offense on the year, on pace for over 4,000 yards  (In the CAA Robertson is a distant 2nd at 2880). The SBU game he broke Michael Birdsong's JMU single season TD passing mark by 2 TDs and Rodney Landers single season total offense mark, with still 2 regular season games to go. Next game he should Birdsong's JMU single season passing yardage record. Last 6 since after the UD OT loss Lee has thrown 17 TD passes to 1 INT.

I don't want to take away from Lee's accomplishments and I am sure you just used John's name to show just how impressive Lee has been. Anyone who compares favorably with Robertson, even if it is only one stat, is very impressive.

I think most observers agree John will win the Walter Payton award this year barring any swoon in his last two games.

Here are some stats. Keep in mind he sat out a number of second halves this year because of the mismatches Nova has been involved in and he played five games with a cast on his fractured left hand.

Funny how you only show up on here after a Maine win. Last time was back in Sept when Maine got what then looked like a big win over TU to get to .500.

Cat, I agree on Robertson. I don't know if Robertson (barring injury of course the last 2 games) wins the Payton, as I am not aware of what the other top candidates nationally have done, but barring injury this week and missing the final two games, he is a slam dunk to win the CAA POY. Someone on the JMU board started a thread making the case for Lee by pointing out what I mentioned above + some additional:

"CAA Rankings:
Rushing Yards/Game
Vad Lee - 6th place - 71.9 (#63 nationally)
John Robertson - 8th place - 69.3 (#76 nationally)

Passing Yards
Vad Lee - 1st place - 2633 (#6 nationally)
John Robertson - 2nd place - 2187 (#21 nationally)

Passing Yards/Game
Vad Lee - 1st place - 263.3 (#11 nationally)
John Robertson - 2nd place - 218.7 (#29 nationally)

Passing Touchdowns
John Robertson - 1st place - 29 (#2 nationally)
Vad Lee - 2nd place - 24 (#6 nationally)

Total Offense
Vad Lee - 1st place - 335.2 (#4 nationally)
John Robertson - 2nd place - 288.0 (#10 nationally)

Passing Efficiency
John Robertson - 1st place - 184.5 (#1 nationally)
Vad Lee - 3rd place - 136.5 (#36 nationally)"

But another JMU poster later pointed out how Roberts is superior over the course of the season:

"I don't think we can diminish Robertson's fantastic season in the POY.
He has thrown 132 less passes than Vad Lee, but still has more TD passes with 29.
Also his 68% completion percentage is 5th in the nation while Vad Lee is middle of the pack at 58%.

They are very close in rushing stats with around 700 yards each albeit Robertson gets more of his yards on designed running plays. What is strange is Robertson's rushing stats are way down from last year when he had 1,400 yards and 20 rushing TD's. I know he has played with a cast on his broken hand all year so maybe that has taken some of his effectiveness.

The first half of this year is probably too much to overcome for Vad even if he finishes with 2 strong games like the last 2."

Roberts had a shi*ty game @ UR (at least by his normal outstanding standards), but overall he has been very impressive, esp considering playing with the broken non throwing hand which I'm sure has cut down on some of his running.

Offensive Player of the Week
Vad Lee | QB | James Madison
- Finished 20-of-33 passing for 314 yards and three touchdowns in JMU's road win at Stony Brook.
- Recorded 56 rushing yards on 16 carries.
- His numbers came against a SBU team that entered the game leading the FCS in total defense.

Defensive Player of the Week
Joe Sarnese | S | Villanova
- Tallied a game-high 11 tackles in Villanova's victory over Towson.
- Returned a fourth-quarter interception 48 yards for a Nova touchdown.
- Added a pass breakup in coverage for the Wildcats.

Special Teams Player of the Week
Benjamin Davis | LB | Maine

Course RJ Harris will probably get 2nd in the CAA POTY voting. Putting up RIDICULOUS #s. He leads the CAA in receiving yds and TDs BY FAR, leads the nation in receiving yds per game (UNH has played only 9 games & plays only 11 games regular season), and if UNH makes a deep run, he's pretty much on pace to have one of the greatest if not the greatest season at WR in the history of the CAA. He will prbably be a consensus 1st team AA. On top of that, he plays on the #1 ranked team in the nation.
http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fcs/ ... ividual/13" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I remember last year he had an absolute field day against JMU: 10 receptions for 183 yds and 3 TDs. Biggest receiving day against JMU since Victor Cruz in 08'.
