The "rumors" are created by SDHornet and a few others on our board, some with personal axes to grind. No reports or speculation in the local press or from actual fans and supporters at the games etc. I expect a win vs the dungpile on Saturday but I don't think Coach Sperbeck's job will depend on it.EWURanger wrote:Will winning this one game be enough to save him, though? Will be a bittersweet game one way or another. Rumors are Sperbeck's job is on the line here. If we lose and he is canned I don't think I would be that upset. However if we win and he gets another 3-5 years then I won't be too happy. Either way its a lose-lose for us.

His job should be on the line. Based on location and enrollment Sacramento State should be the most dominant team in the big sky. Next should be UC Davis & Cal Poly followed by Portland State, Northern Arozona & Eastern WashingtonGreen Laser wrote:The "rumors" are created by SDHornet and a few others on our board. No one has posted Sperbeck’s contract situation. Sperbeck started the ’07 season and is wrapping up his 7th season. So basically he is coming to the end of his contract extension either this season or next; hopefully it’s this season. We won’t ever do better than middle of the road so long as Sperbeck remains HC, time to move on.Green Laser wrote:The "rumors" are created by SDHornet and a few others on our board, some with personal axes to grind. Based on what your athletic expertise? You have made some pretty off the mark calls lately.SDHornet wrote:No one has posted Sperbeck’s contract situation. Me, on the other hand?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

If stating that a Hornet alum for next HC shouldn’t be a priority because there isn’t a Hornet alum candidate out there capable of getting us above 500 is off the mark then yes I agree with you.Green Laser wrote:Based on what your athletic expertise? Courtesy of the Google this is all I’ve found on Sperbeck’s contract:

Methinks a significant extension would have been announced somewhere…anywhere. Until anything concrete turns up then there isn’t much to go on.

A Hornet no-show in a 34-7 beatdown. Sperbeck needs to be shown the door asap.
Re: *Official* 68th Causeway Classic Thread
No need for the Aggies to flog the Hornets after this blow-out. They have flogged themselves on their own board. Good luck on your search for a new coach.SDHornet wrote:A Hornet no-show in a 34-7 beatdown. Sperbeck needs to be shown the door asap.
