That would actually reduce the attendance. There are a lot of 60+ year old fans that would not be using their season tickets when those Alberta Clippers come through.
I thought you guys were building a fence to keep out those unwanted Canadians.

They are plenty tough, Missoula is a good 10 degrees or better, warmer than Fargo in the late fall and early winter and the average wind speed is double in Fargo. Missoula sounds like a nice balmy place to see a football game in December. If you can have a nice place to play, why not inside.

Because domes and tracks are not allowed.

Griz-cat game in November 2010 had a wind chill of about 1 degree; not exactly balmy. The winds that come out of Hellgate Canyon can be as brutal as anything on the prairie.

That is something I could get behind......I really hate a track around a college field. Sorry to those that have it but it really sucks IMHO.

That's cold, at least you have some trees and mountains to block the wind. The Red River Valley is the second largest flat area in the world. I mean flat, at the Canadian border the altitude is 795', 150 miles south in Fargo it's 896'. I can understand you being against dome's, I felt the same way prior to the Fargodome. But I've gotten use to the dome, the crowd and National Championships.

1976 playoff game in Fargo, only 6000 people attended a playoff game with Montana St. It was 21 degrees with the wind blowing, not sure what the wind chill was.

Fine with me.

Although we are in a small state with 2 FBS schools so funding for that project is a loooooong way off.

The real I-A (or if you prefer, FBS) schools, of which there are only maybe 60 to 70, get together and force the wannabees back to I-AA (or FCS, if you prefer). The athletic program potentials of the Louisiana Techs of the world are much closer in nature to those of the McNeese States of the world than they are to the LSUs of the world. MUCH closer. They should quit trying to pretend that they belong in the same realm as the LSUs of the world.

And that would make FCS better. All the schools that belong in FCS actually play in FCS.

It'd make FBS better too.

I don't get this argument.

If I'm a fan of a school from a weaker conference this increases our chances of getting an at-large bid - see Lehigh last year.

If I'm a fan of a school from a power conference, this means my bubble team that played well down the stretch and/or played a tough schedule might sneak in and go on a run - see Towson last year or Nova in 2010.

Hell if for no other reason than it would mean seeing my team play and extra game. I like football and I don't like the season to end. :suspicious:

Besides, it's not as if anyone is really going to think the NDSU's title last year or whoever's title from this year are somehow cheapened by a 24 out 120 watered down field...deserving an asterisk.

Kalm...NCAA basketball went from 32 to 64...fine. then they added a play in, so 65...now it is, what 68 or 72? Soon it will be 96. They finally got a playoff in the FBS....that will be 32 before you know it.

Here is another example.

I agree with your logic. However I think it would be best to eliminate the "second level" aka FCS aka subdivision of division 1.

Any FCS team getting less than 8-10k at home games kill yourself. Bring the top 35-50 FCS teams up to division 1 and seal it off. And do a division 1 playoff based on conference champions. Only top 4 conferences get an at large ticket.

Why should Northern Colorado, Central Conn, Charleston southern, & Howard etc get to call themselves division 1? Trim the fat.

It took consistent playoff appearances, a national championship, red turf, and about 10 years to get us over the threshold. Like I said, we'd be DII or have no football. The Cougs, Vandals, and Huskies are playing tomorrow, you should check them out. :coffee:

And u can thank ME for half of that. And like I said. If a school doesn't invest in their fb team enough to follow the rules or guidelines they can find a d2 home. Even if it's EWU. Game. Set. Match. BLACKFALKIN.
