I don't agree with your post. UHN has not played as good of defense in FCS until Wofford #12. Towson was #21 and UNH lost. Illinois St #11, Indiana St #13 and SDSU #3 and YSU #17 were all above Towson and NDSU went 3-1 against that group. NDSU will be better prepared to play against a good defense than UNH was.

Also Wofford seems very one dimensional even in the triple option to me, from what I have seen Breitenstein up the middle is where they gain most of their yards and the source of most of their big plays. BisoNation: It was the same last year with all of the playoff teams the Bison played. Lehigh was going to throw for 400, GSU was going to run for 400, SHSU was going to kill us with the run and pass.

But you know what?

I'll take our defense against anyone in the FCS. Ranked #1 in 6 categories. I think they will be able to handle whatever Wofford runs at them. Sure, Wofford will get some yards rushing, they are a good team but the Bison are a very good team.

Home game and a very good defense = recipe for success!!

Wofford also only put up 20+ points vs one of the worst FCS defenses. Wofford has a big challenge going from a very bad defense to clearly one of the best in FCS this week. I can't see their offense scoring 10+ in this one. They will need points on the board from their special teams and defense.

Wofford fumbles the ball a lot but that doesn't surprise me with a triple-option team.

But if they turn it over on saturday and get behind early it could be a long day for the ankle biters.

As we're all aware, this is the only quarterfinal game with a clear favorite. NDSU hasn't faced an option team this year, but they certainly had no trouble with Georgia Southern in last season's semis. Unless Eric Breitenstein is able to just run over the Bison front-7 like a bowling ball (unlikely), I don't see Wofford getting a whole lot going on offense. Their best chance is probably to win the way Indiana State did—getting pretty much all their points on pick-sixes. Ultimately I think Wofford's D will keep them in the game, but they won't be able to win it by themselves.

Fair assessment.

A key for the Bison will be the O-line play. If the Bison can control the line of scrimmage and sustain drives they will win. Keep Wofford's TO off the field and make them play catch-up football. The 2nd half will be the game changer for the O-line.
