The school Cal Poly plays is a non-scholarship FCS school in the Patriot Conference I believe.
They are a D3 football team playing D1 football.

Yup, shouldn't have been in there either. They made it by virtue of playing earlier in the day (ECB at it's finest). When I make the list, I use the I-AA schedule that lists games by times. I put in the first 10 I get to, then throw games out as I find better replacements. CP/USD wasn't a "better" replacement. 8-)

SIU vs. EIU

EIU has 19 starters back and a new coach from Baylor who is going to air it out

SIU did a good job of shoring up its secondary and returns the best front 7 in the MVC.

This is debatable.

NDSU's front 7 on defense are pretty good.....really good.

Not saying they aren't good or that it isn't debatable, my part of the debate would be that you rushed for for 60 yards at a 1.8 ypc clip against SIU and Jewel Hampton had 120 yards against a Bison defense that was loaded up for him and daring the backup QB to throw in his first start.

San Diego @ Cal Poly.
There's actually quite a bit to be excited about in this game. Caragher has the Toreros back after a couple of down years following Harbaugh's departure, and have returned to contention with a 9-2 record last season and losses only at Cal Davis and Campbell. Cal Poly always fields a good team, and should be in contention in the Big Sky.

I'd argue it's one of the more exciting I-AA vs. I-AA matchups of week one. Still think UNH-Holy Cross will be the game of the week though. Crusaders-Wildcats rivalry always a good one, and very close last season to boot.
LONG LIVE THE NCAC! LONG LIVE SAN FRANCISCO STATE FOOTBALL!

Hampton was pretty darn good. He was better than our RB (McNorton). Ojuri is the #1 this year but John Crocket will probably get a lot of reps this year.....I guess he was recruited by every Big 10 team except Northwestern. He has spent 2 yrs getting his grades up....sounds like he is the real deal.

It will be interesting to see how SIU plays the Bison this year. IMO, the Bison offense will be much improved compared to last year. Looking forward to seeing your DTs in action.

I would agree that Hampton is the better RB, but McNorton had the better o line.

I think SIU will be much better than last year on offense too, just because the QB got some serious trial by fire last year. What impressed me most about him in his first start against you is that he didn't cost us the game, which would have been the case for most guys in their first start against a defense like NDSUs. We have arguably the best NT in FCS; our leading tackler last year and national Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against Ol' Miss and their Rimington award winning C, but he is backed by a true freshman so we'll be holding our breath there.

Last year was a case of us matching up well because you didn't have a passing game that could exploit our secondary to a very great extent. I think we'll be coming to the dome knowing that we can play with the national champs.

Imo it will be a higher scoring game this year with both team putting up 17+ pts.

I cannot argue with this but according to some on BV and the preseason interviews done by local TV, he was recruited by all Big 10 teams ( ex Northwestern) until his grades were suspect then all interest fell off on him. Coach Bohl gave him a chance and he worked hard to get his grades up.
