We've had some pretty good luck with Georgia QB's thus far.

You confused me, 93. Took me a while to see that you meant Newark, DE. I thought the kid was a QB-DE combo, which would be one of the weirdest two-way combos I've ever seen for a QB. Generally, if a QB plays defense, he's a F/S.
Dummy me.

Dummy me.

Again, JMU is talking about using him as a DB. So yes, I'm going to actually use what the kid said and he said he wanted to go away for college. How does KC's ability to develop high school QB's matter when we're talking about the defensive secondary?ChickenMan wrote:Right.. the fact that in ten years KC has not been able to develop a single high school QB recruit had absolutely no impact on his decision.GannonFan wrote: Seeing how many of the JMU folks are already talking about Reynolds playing in the defensive backfield at JMU and not even playing QB, I think the more likely answer is the one Reynolds himself gave - he wanted to go away somewhere for college, not stay at home. But let's not believe him, I'm sure your reason is the right one. Kid's a liar.

Reynolds said the fact that JMU has had several recent quarterbacks whose athletic playing styles mirror his skills, such as Rodney Landers and Justin Thorpe, “played a big part” in his decision.
Doesn't sound like Reynolds is planning on playing DB to me.

Obviously, only the JMU fans are guessing he's moving to defense, because we've already received a verbal from Ian Fisher of Brunswick Maryland.

I think a lot of JMU fans are expecting Ian Fisher to be our QB of the future. The kid is 6'5 and 240 already and has a cannon and apparently can run. Was told he would redshirt next year then immediately compete as a r-fr with Jace Edwards in 2013 for Thorpe's replacement. Reynolds could move to rb/cb like Mickey has been known to do with many athletes

This Reynolds kid is gonna have some nice bulletin board material if and when he starts for JMU vs. ODU in the upcoming years. ODU pulled their offer and told this kid that they got a commitment from someone else. In other words, you're welcome JMU for giving him a little bit more incentive to commit early then rather late and try to decide on a later date.

Reynolds not listed yet with JMU's Rivals recruits, but notice how JMU is still getting top I-AA recruits from the Tidewater area, despite ODU, 2 so far, a 2 and 3 star:ODUalum11 wrote:This Reynolds kid is gonna have some nice bulletin board material if and when he starts for JMU vs. ODU in the upcoming years. Re: JMU Lands Newark DE QB Taylor Reynolds
And ODU has 5 so far according to rivals. Overall has 4 2-star recruits. In all seriousness, I don't expect this class for ODU to be nearly as big as the last couple years....ODU only loses 8 seniors due to graduation if I remember correctly, and I believe the 2012 recruiting class is at 10 already. Obviously Wilder is planning on a few other players leaving the program as well thats due to other reasons. Along with 8 seniors leaving the ODU program after this season I believe Patrick Young left due to personal reasons as well. It's realistic to think a few others will leave as well due to other reasons.BDKJMU wrote:Reynolds not listed yet with JMU's Rivals recruits, but notice how JMU is still getting top I-AA recruits from the Tidewater area, despite ODU, 2 so far, a 2 and 3 star:ODUalum11 wrote:This Reynolds kid is gonna have some nice bulletin board material if and when he starts for JMU vs. ODU in the upcoming years. Re: JMU Lands Newark DE QB Taylor Reynolds
Whats also comical is that this is the 2nd straight year that ODU has gone into the state of Georgia and got a commitment from a quarterback. Georgia State fans talk about how they are in such a recruiting hotbed which might be the case and because of that they talk about how much better they'll be than ODU in the near future.
FWIW, they have 16 commits already and only 2 of them are 2-star recruits.
Maybe its just me but I prefer quality over quantity.
In comparison to other CAA teams....
WM has 0 commits listed on rivals.com,
Villanova actually has 5 recuits listed so far and 3 of them are 3-star recruits,
Towson has 4 commits listed,
Richmand has 3 commits,
Rhode Island has 0 commits,
New Hampshire has 0 commits,
UMass has 1 commit who is a 2-star,
Maine has 0 commits,
Delaware has 4 commits overall and 1 2-star,

Villanova is going to be massively improved next yr- I believe only started 2-3 seniors (only started 2 against JMU), which would be 19-20 starters back plus 2 from 10' who missed all of this season due to injury, an OT and their pre season All CAA receiver. They played all those freshmen. They could have a Towson like turnaround.

Yeah BDK, I realize that rivals leaves out some commitments and its only updated like once every 2 months for FCS teams unlike FBS teams. ODU for example just got 4 commitments last week and they aren't listed yet and a 5th committed months ago by the name of Fellonte Misher and he's not listed yet.....BDKJMU wrote:Those other teams with only a few or 0 commits showing likely have have more commits, just not all of them listed by rivals.ODUalum11 wrote:Whats also comical is that this is the 2nd straight year that ODU has gone into the state of Georgia and got a commitment from a quarterback. I agree with Villanova, they will be very competitive next year with all the young talent they'll have back.
