The ball shouldn't have left the QB or RB's hand after half time.Aho Old Guy wrote:By my count SFA threw the ball 29 times in the third qtr -- none in the fourth.
That still gets them the 'Douche of the Week' Award ...

There's nothing wrong with running some draw plays, maybe some dive plays, off tackle plays, jet sweeps, etc....bandl wrote:clenz wrote:The ball shouldn't have left the QB or RB's hand after half time.![]()
What are they supposed to do, run around in circles? Run backwards? Kneel on every single play? Or would you rather they ask the McMurry team if they would like to forfeit the second half and just call it a game after the first half is complete?

Up 75-6 , the 3rd string QB went 3/4 69 yards and a TD to start the 4th quarter. They just ran the ball after that.Aho Old Guy wrote:By my count SFA threw the ball 29 times in the third qtr -- none in the fourth.

So long as the QB is always the one running and not the RB...Should the O-Line have played with both hands behind their back to even things up a bit?clenz wrote:There's nothing wrong with running some draw plays, maybe some dive plays, off tackle plays, jet sweeps, etc....bandl wrote:![]()

bandle, you're wrong here. Once the score gets over 50 and the other team isn't even competitive, you just run the ball. It's called sportsmanship. And I am not at all surprised a JMU fan doesn't get that.bandl wrote:clenz wrote:The ball shouldn't have left the QB or RB's hand after half time.![]()

Who said that? It's not like I'm saying they should have taken a knee three times and punted. SFA averaged 7 yards per rush, it's not like their run game was pedestrian.bandl wrote:So long as the QB is always the one running and not the RB...Should the O-Line have played with both hands behind their back to even things up a bit?clenz wrote:There's nothing wrong with running some draw plays, maybe some dive plays, off tackle plays, jet sweeps, etc....
I remember when Jacksonville did that against Valpo last year...and still kept scoring. 86-7 was the final.andy7171 wrote:bandle, you're wrong here. If a team gives up passing, which on average will get two or three times as many yards as a run play, and still scores - fine.∞∞∞ wrote:I remember when Jacksonville did that against Valpo last year...and still kept scoring. 86-7 was the final.andy7171 wrote: bandle, you're wrong here. If they can't stop you from running the ball, it's their own problem. You don't humiliate people by throwing when you are up 50+ points.∞∞∞ wrote:I remember when Jacksonville did that against Valpo last year...and still kept scoring. 86-7 was the final.andy7171 wrote: bandle, you're wrong here. That's the part that I don't get, when people say only running is permitted in blowouts and not passing...both are part of the game. To me it doesn't matter if one gains more yards per play than the other. Maybe by passing they are just trying to get their offense off the field quicker to allow the McMurry D a breather?andy7171 wrote:If they can't stop you from running the ball, it's their own problem. If McMurray is on the schedule next year, shame on both schools.

I hope Montana gets to play them again soon.danefan wrote:Can't wait for the SFA fans to come on here and say they're a passing team and don't have any running plays they can use....blah blah blah.
Basic sportsmanship....you don't intentionally run up the score on anyone - ever at any level of the game. Period.

No, no they're not. Apparently they're worse.89Hen wrote:Well, McMurray is no Fort Lewis.grizzaholic wrote:
Awesome. Do some fucking research before you post something like that. If Montana played the neighborhood Highschool team and beat them 103-3 you would think that is impressive. For FUCKS SAKE.

Does SFA play a 2 QB system? They alternated Attway & Williams in the 1st, 2nd & 3rd quarters before bringing in the #3 guy in the 4th. Also, their starting RB was still scoring TD's in the 4th quarter....pretty classless, but I'd expect nothing less from SFA.andy7171 wrote:Up 75-6 , the 3rd string QB went 3/4 69 yards and a TD to start the 4th quarter.
