I think this is the third surface in the Fabulous Fargo Dome. One about every 10 yrs I guess. Thats another advantage to being inside. Turf lasts longer.
Think the dudes in your avatar would have approved of playing football inside, like a bunch of sissies? :| :ohno:

Thats NDSUs last Hockey Team dumb-ass! They played outside too. Of course they would have approved of the Fabulous Fargo Dome.

There used to be a time in Fargo when some people thought the game was better outside. That time has passed. Most, if not all BISON fans are going to agree outdoor tailgating and indoor football is the best.

If you want something like the weather, a totally random event affecting the game in random ways, thats your business. Here in Fargo and at NDSU it has been decided we like the game better in the controlled conditions of the Fabulous Fargo Dome. Let the better team win, not the team that got random lucky breaks because of weather or turf color. Tailgating outside is ok though.

Turf color wasn't a "lucky break". It was a calculated plan that worked to perfection. :coffee:

But the snow that started to all in the middle of the game kept it much closer than it needed to be. So kudos to you! :thumb:

Thank your for you admission. Just as many of us thought. The officiating at the NDSU/EWU game was terrible.

The bilzzard comment is intresting too. Its an excuse for not winning by a larger margin. Its an admission that EWU cant play in bad weather. An outside team that doesnt like the weather?

Football is better inside and the new turf at the Fabulous Fargo is going to be a nice upgrade.

Let me see here...oh that's right we were 11-0 outdoors after the month of September. Average temp for our 3 home playoff games was about 25 degrees with a wind chill in the low teens. Cold, home winning percentage, Polsongriz - hell Roos Field is basically Washington Grizzly Stadium, (minus 20,000 fans) but with better turf.

You've got to be good enough to overcome officiating and injuries ya newb. :thumb:

First off, LOVE the new turf we will be getting. Much needed updates including the lights for the FFD.

Arguing with Fargoans about weather conditions won't cut it. We aren't impressed. Come to Fargo for a real winter and imagine watching a November or early December game outside. It isn't fun. That was a major reason the FFD was built along with concert reasoning and other trade shows it hosts.

If the BISON need to prepare for a road playoff game they will practice outside at Dacotah Field in the near blizzard conditions like they faced last year before Montana State. So really, the Fargodome doesn't hamper their ability to play outside. As a fan, I LOVE to be comfortable sitting inside in an environment that is much louder than it would be outside :D But to his his own!

The OTHER major reason being that Beefalo fans are a bunch of fairweather sissies. :coffee:

If the Edmonton fucking Eskimos can play football outdoors, so can a team in Fargo. :tothehand:

Well, sorry, can't do anything about that. There are obviously plenty of BISON fans that would prefer playing outside compared to the Fargodome but we are stuck with playing inside. Call us sissies all you want for watching a football game inside, but I don't have to worry about my balls literally freezing off as I stand there and watch a game. Completely fine with that. :thumb:

I don't wanna side with an NDSU fan, but Fargo winters are flat fucking miserable. Playing a game outside there in December would be retarded. The -20 isn't really that bad, but add those damn prairie winds and -50 doesn't sound to appealing any more.

How often does it get to -20 during the day in December? :coffee:

The weather isn't really an issue, I go to a game to watch football and dress accordly. If you go there to just say I went to an outdoor stadium in such and such weather, well if that's your jones, go for it.

FWIW, the high in Fargo in December is something like 15 degrees, and the low is about 0.

Even at 15, the winds would be a bitch.

I can definitely say the playoff games I went to as a student (as well as Griz-Cat last year) wouldn't have been the same experience had they been played indoors. :twocents:

you'd be shocked.

Fargo and Winnipeg are some of the coldest (if not THE coldest) 100k+ cities in the world. (colder than Anchorage)

But Willie is right - it's not the cold - it's the WIND... nothing to stop it for hundreds of miles... a two inch snowfall can become a 3 foot drift... I wouldn't have believed it until I lived through it.

I don't love indoor football - but in Fargo - it makes sense (ideally, a retracto-roof would be great - Fargo in September and early October is great... but that's insanely expensive)

When played inside the game is pure and decided by skill, coaching team work and individual effort. Why have the game rest on random events perpetuated by weather.

Excuses are obviously a big part of the game for BSC folks. Some of these half wits make excuses for winning, for not winning big, for establishing a method to cheat, it doesnt matter. Excuses are why so many BSC football fans want to play outside. They dont want an even game and they want excuses if need be.

Teams that play indoors are superior in character, skill, ability and organization. Obviously any old school can play in some rat trap outdoor stadium. Only old fashioned lower class fans put up with wind, rain, snow, cold, heat, sun etc. Only the exclusive programs play the game in the exotic and pure indoor conditions. Only the exclusive and knowledgeable fans admit indoor ball is better.

All great games have moved indoors: basketball, hockey, football, baseball

If you ever are fortunate enough to play in the prestigious Fabulous Fargo Dome the new surface will be a plus for both teams. The game is better on a turf that allows the athletes more freedom of movement. Another thing Im sure you will appreciate is the excellent officiating you will surly find in Fargo.
