Good game. Nothing like good football. Lamar is next. Good opportunity to turn things around. Not a bad night all-in-all, but a loss.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

I think the Muss is starting to catch on. He said sure they played well but it was still another loss.

It sure is funny how that rain storm flared up in Willmar, MN during the exact time period that North Dakota* held the lead during that game..................

Good game by UND.

Cal Poly's starting QB Andre Broadous missed the game. He hurt his shoulder on the last play of the SUU game last week when he got sacked. I think he would have made a difference. He is a threat with both his feet and his arm. Tony Smith is a good leader, but not much of a threat running the ball and less of a threat throwing the ball.

 The storm was a bigger draw than the UND football game!

I guess the storm was a pretty big deal around here huh?

Im cherry picking now Hambone but the "D2 recruits" did very well today. Dont get all crazy on me now and start calling this some kind of victory, but it was a good showing. I take back some of the things I said, not all, just some.
JBB:
They have a lot of D2 type players but they arent a paper tiger.

Interesting discussion on http://www.siouxsports.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; about the game. It seems they are losing appitite for moral victories. Moral victories are real but they arent a foundation for a program. You cant build a program on a moral victory. Moral victories are what tradition and history are all about. A moral victory add color and character to the tradition of a school. They are what you talk about 10-20 years down the road.
MOSIOUXFAN:
Great effort by an injury-riddled Sioux team against a highly-ranked team on their home field. The Sioux could have mailed it in after going down 13 - 0 and being badly outplayed but instead didn't give up, kept their poise and nearly pulled off a nice upset. Nice comeback; the one second half fumble really hurt our momentum. Gallant effort by the D; hopefully, the team will be encouraged overall and will put together a couple of complete games on the upcoming homestand. Hope to be there for the UC Davis game. Go SIOUX!!
Looking back on the thread I thought they would pack it in too.
dakotadan:
congratulations guys. You all get a red participation ribbon.
Frustration with the moral victory is starting to show with that post and continues:
Ole in MSP:
In the midst of euphoria after another close loss I have to say it looks like the offense again missed the bus and got to the game at halftime. The O line showed up even later. You cannot depend entirely on an offense of one speedy wide receiver. It is disappointing that a coach who was an O lineman cannot find or inspire better O line play to get more than 57 yds rushing and one first down in the first half. Thirteen minutes difference in time of possession is going to kill you every time and it has this season. I hope that Muss can develop the Redshirts or find new recruits that can move the football on the ground at least part of the time. Until this program finds some horses for the O line it is not going to be very productive in spite of some gallant play by everyone else.
The coach is coming under fire too.
tickletetwine:
How about the coaching? It seems like that could be part of the problem. I am a UND alum and huge fan but never real big on UND football. The coach we have now just doesn't seem to be getting the job done. Thoughts?
The home town QB is not without fault either.
letsgosioux:
I am proud of the way the team played.

That said, I will be so happy when our hometown QB is no longer eligible and we can get someone else in next year. He would have made a great D2 QB.
I have probably said a lot of those things when critiquing the UND football team. Nothing I've said has been outlandish but usually is ahead of the curve, anchored in fact and accurate.

It was a good game last night. UND is having some problems building a D1 team but its an up and down process. it has been at NDSU too. Fortunately I learned a long time ago that the wins and losses are the essence of the game but the fun is the game. From the fans perspective Football unfolds before you for your enjoyment. UND lost an exciting game. It doesnt mean a thing in the scheme of things, the game was meaningless from a standings perspective but it was fun to listen to and certainly was exciting. Similar to the BISON game this one wasnt a work of art but it sets the scene for next week.

It was a very exciting game to watch, back and forth.

Hey ES, they had the drawings of Spanos Stadium at 25,000+ at the Stampede B-B-Q. I should of taken a picture with my phone (I will next week if it is there again). The new west side is triple deck and runs endline to endline and goes across the street behind it. There is a football operations building in the north east corner. They are also relocating the memorial plaza to that corner. I hear there will be club seating on the middle deck of the new east side stands. The new east side towers over the west side and makes the west look tiny in comparison. It really looks awesome.

Nope. I'll get a picture next week if they have it there again.
