In spite of what actually happened? I think we had this discussion a few weeks ago. When was the last time a BSC team not named montana made it to the semis?

And what "conference rankings" are you talking about?

Well, the UNI game ended before the Montana game, therefore the Montana win is more recent....

Well, you've only beaten an SEC team & are still undefeated & SFA has one loss...wait, no....

And App, with no defense, won in an offensive shootout with El Cid 39-10 & remains #2 while #1 Delaware's defense shutdown the offensive juggernaught that is Rhode Island to win 24-17.....

It's been way to long since UNI's last win for it to carry any weight.

You can't seriously be upset about Delaware being ahead of App...

Nothing has show App to be clearly better than Delaware, I don't see what the issue is. Delaware is still only giving up 8 points a game.

No, not at all. This comment was in reference to a troll thread started by UD fan last week. Personally, I'd like for us to go into the post season as the number 2 seed as it has all of the advantages of #1 seed with less disruption...

I just like to put some back on ya when you take a swipe and point out that you have had an envious obsession with Montana from your first posts on here. You have been making these same kinds of statements for the last couple of years about who we've played and the lack of a good teams and yet we were still one of the two playing at the end of the year. You also have it in your head that the MVFC is a traditionally stronger conference in spite of the fact that the BSC normally ends up above the MVFC in conference rankings. So you can see why normally you can't be taken seriously.

This year you are as close to correct as you've ever been but since you've poisoned that well long ago it is still seen as crying. :thumb:
I do believe the MVFC is traditionally stronger than the BSC. And IMO, that is evidenced, by the complete lack of success in the playoffs by BSC conf teams not named montana. Montana is almost always really really good. And they have almost always proven themselves in the playoffs. BUT, they have often benefited from a mediocre conf schedule IMO. Montana has won, what, 15 conference titles in a row? It hardly matters how good Montana is, and they will still win the conf. Not exactly the picture of parity for the BSC.

And as I said, my opinions on this are not popular here because there are a ton of griz posters. :coffee:

But all that nothing to do with this year, as both conferences appear to suck.
Don't be so hard on yourself. You're opinions are unpopular because they are uneducated.

Montana always fields a quality team, and Northern Iowa usually does. However, with regards to your opinion, in the last 4 years the Big Sky Conference has had EWU, MSU, and WSU, as well as Montana, reach the quarterfinals. :coffee:

While the MVFC may suck this year, traditionaly they are pretty good, with 4 different teams making the quarter finals in the last 4 years.

As for your opinion of the Big Sky this year, I'm content with 4 teams in the top 15 of almost every poll (except probably your's). I think 5 BSC teams are still receiving votes in almost every poll. :coffee:

See, with a little education, your opinions could be popular. :thumb:

FWIW I think there are 5 or 6 MVFC teams receiving votes in various polls as well. Not that any of them outside of UNI or WIU should be

Just some food for thought.

And using that same time period (last 4 years), the MVFC has had 7 quarterfinal appearances, and 3 semifinals appearances. And if you go back a few more years, UNI has a title game appearance, and WKU has a championship.

I do envy the Griz. I hope one day the Flames will be in the playoffs every year with a packed out stadium full of faithful fans.

And I call it the Big Fluffy because it's not on the east coast. :thumb: Not because I think it's all that bad. However, Idaho State and NoCo are pretty bad, you have to admit.

Name one conference that doesn't have a couple of weak sisters in it? And as has been said, N. Colorado is not a bad team, they ain't great but I'm pretty sure even Liberty would have a tough time getting by them. Not saying they wouldn't beat N. Col. but they would give you a game that you would be glad you won when it was over.
