In full disclosure and to be quite honest I have not danefan...but from waht I have seen just in looking the last little while, when the top teams in the NEC the past couple years have stepped out of conference or at least out of region (with some exceptions), theyve gotten crushed...you have to go where the voters are...but then more importantly winning when you go there makes you look better in the eyes of those people

That's why I asked.

Bucknell - W
Dayton (2) - W & L
Delaware - L
Colgate - L
Old Dominion - L
Liberty (2) - W & L
Marist - W
Dartmouth - W
Georgetown (2) - W, W
Morehead State - L

2009

Bucknell (2) - W & L
Nichols State - L (late TD)
Colgate - L

2008
UMass (2) - L, L
Hofstra - W
New Hampshire - L
North Dakota State - L
NC Central - W
Delaware State - W
Bucknell (2) - L, L
Dayton (2) - W, L
Rhode Island - L (3 pt)
Maine - L (3 pt)
Coastal Carolina - L
Morehead State (2) - W, L
Iona (2) - W, W
Marist (3) - W, W, L
VMI - L

Prior to 2008, the NEC also has the following noteable OOC wins: Albany @ Lehigh and @ Delaware (2007) and Central Conn. @ Georgia Southern (2007) and @ Colgate (2006).

The NEC is much stronger this year then in the past, as the scholarships have ramped up the competitiveness tremendously. Its clear though, that voters for the most party have failed to see that.

Question...how many of those games outside of the NE (and particularly the ones more toward the middle part of the country) did they actually win?

Good and valid question. I edited above for the wins and losses. :thumb:

If you can pick up some more wins over teams in high exposure areas (like the deeper part of the South and in the Midwest) that should help your conference...FWIW if I was voting (I am not voting the rest of the year because I missed the middle part of the season due to illness) Id have RMU solidly inside the top 20

There's no valid excuse to not have RMU in the top 25 at this point. Especially when the one team they lost to is also receiving votes. Exposure shouldn't stop a team in line for an auto-bid that beat a top 20 team and has a nearly flawless record out of the top 25. RMU has the resume of a top 20 team, I personally have them above Liberty and in the top 15.

I agree with you TTL that exposure shouldnt stop them but at this point I think that it is.

It is one thing if a poster here doesn't have all the details - I get that. Most people follow their team, their conference, and maybe a little more. No shame in that.

But people who are PAID to follow FCS football (Media, SIDs, etc) have a resposnibility to do some research and be FAIR in the rankings. If they just read this site or AGS, thgey'd have all the info they needed to make a fair deterination.

And for the record, the CS and AGS poll are so much better than TSN or the Coaches Poll, it isn't even funny. The fans have more insight then the media.

It's been this way for years. AGS poll is what, in it's 6th year and from day one was better than the "experts".

Can't believe I still have to ask this question after 9 weeks, but will the TSN voters do the right thing this week?

This is a top-20 team and no way should Liberty, SCSU, BCU, Grambling, or Penn be ranked ahead of the Colonials!

2010 RMU (8-1, 7-0 NEC)
Sep 4 - L at Dayton, 14-28
Sep 11 - W at Sacred Heart, 35-31
Sep 18 - W vs. #15 Liberty, 30-23
Sep 25 - W at Wagner, 30-9
Oct 2 - W at St Francis-PA, 35-14
Oct 9 - W vs. Monmouth, 17-16
Oct 16 - W vs. Albany, 38-0
Oct 30 - W vs. Duquesne, 34-11
Nov 6 - W vs Central Conn. St., 42-24

I have been rooting for them to be in the Top 25 for weeks, but I really hope they make it this week because I would love to see Bryant host their first FCS Top 25 team.

I hate to do it but I do have RMU ahead of all of the above. I have them just 1 spot ahead of LU
