Correct. I use conference-only stats for conference comparisons. I should have made that clear in my post. MY bad.

For me the difference for MSU is McGee (sp). The cats have not had a playmaker at QB since Lulay. I was at the PSU game and he was off trying to hit guys downfield but get him rolling out or scrambling and he is a good as anyone I have seen with quality receivers to compliment him. EWU just doesn't impress me without Jones, not saying they are not a good team, but EWU doesn't come close to beating Montana without him and Montana is the only Big Sky team that EWU has faced with Jones 100% throughout the whole game.

So if Jones doesn't play (which he might not), would you say UNC has a good shot at EW?!!

assuming TJ will be at 100% soon the Eags are in the best postion in the sky right now. they still have some tough games but its mostly down hill compared to any other remaining schedule.

EWU isn't going to lose at UNC even without Jones.

so jones getting healthy and an msu loss ewu is would be looking at a title.

Let me say this again...until your o-line learns how to block..your team is in trouble. You have a lot of talent at the skill positions there but if Orms is running for his then it doesn't matter. EWU has a very good defensive line and their defense is very fast.

So nope...

having watched Weber play both EWU and UNC I would have to favor EW. they don't need TJ to be good.

That three game stretch in the middle will be no cakewalk, especially without Jones. Any of those three can beat a Jones-less Eagle team.

MSU's schedule is no worse than EWU's. The Bobcats have already won three of their toughest conference games, including EWU and PSU, which EWU has yet to face.

Four BSC teams have only one conference loss, though, so anything is possible.

It's not so much the O Line isn't talented but three of the starters are really banged up - high ankle sprains, et. They're playing on one leg out there. Orms is hurt, probably won't play against EWU.

Yeah I think last weeks game would have been closer by 3 or 4 points had Orms played...however the Hornet defense was all over UNC so it may not have mattered...and so much for that guarantee of a UNC win in Sac.* ;)

Yeah I didn't want to make that big of a deal about it since this win was expected. I was at the game and I had a blast.

Jones won't play - and sure, anything is possible. I don't know if I would say UNC has a "good" shot at EWU, though. I would think we'd still be pretty heavy favorites, even without TJ. I think our defense will be the real decider in this one; I really like how they are playing right now, very tough.

But like I said, anything can happen in this conference. :thumb:

Going without TJ for a game has helped our offense. I feel bad for the kid and of course want him healthy, but there's a little silver lining for the team as we go deeper into the season.

Play the spoiler role.

Besides which, that #1 Brandon Kaufman character hurt us more than Jones did. Watch out for him!!! I hate thinking he's only a sophomore but he's close to First Team All-Conference BSC WR already.

By the way, I wonder if it will become easier to watch "Inferno" games once the novelty wears off ?

He and Nic Edwards were the two WRs I was telling people to watch out for before the season. They both got sufficient playing time last year after Boyce went down. BLM targets Kauf more because he's 6'5 and can bail him out on over/bad thrown balls. Chuck it deep and Kauf will go up and get it... he is a stud.

So far, 29 catches, 547 yards, 4 TDs, average of 18.9 per catch.

I still think it is horrible. I would be opposed to the Griz going with a maroon field if they wanted to try it, so I am really not trying to single the color or EWU out. I think the smurf turf is every bit as putrid and the NCAA should put in a rule before it gets out of hand. :twocents:
