If Charlie Batch plays well for the Pittsburgh Steelers next week there isn't going to be a (sane) person on the planet saying Charlie Batch should start for the Steelers instead of Ben Roethlisberger the following game (not an injury situation, but regardless).

If Selle is able to return from this injury it would probably only be at a time when the Griz had been carried by Roper for too long to warrant a change...Roper has been the better QB thus far this season as it is. From what I've heard from a couple students who are friends with Selle...there's no way in hell he's going to be coming back this year.

I just feel bad for Selle. By all accounts he's a great guy and he's definitely one of the better academic players in college football...I've gone through months and months of therapy before and if his injury is as bad as I've heard he's in for a hell of a time.
SIU was in this situation last year. Dieker went down early in the season, and our back-up, McIntosh, carried us to the playoffs. Dieker was ready to play for the playoff game, but didn't come in until it was too late to do anything of note.

Good luck Andrew Selle. Your contributions to UM football will always be remembered.

Sorry to hear the bad news.
But Thomas Demarco has one less player to compete with for the award. :thumb:

This is terrible news about Selle. You hate to see somebody's career end that way.

As to your second sentence. I pray, for the sake of this board, that Demarco beats out Pat Devlin to win the WP Award this year.

For months.

Even with his 'playing' days being over, I hope that he will find a positive way to contribute on game days, the locker room, film study, etc.
