Trust me, I have endured more than my share of disappointing Bobcats games in San Marcos. Other than some cousins who attended back in the day, my ties are now gone. I'm married to a Longhorn and I have business interests in UT football as well. I was worried when Liberty moved its opener from that night to a day game ... but thankfully they went scheduled it early enough that I shouldn't miss anything other than some 4th quarter mop-up action.CatMom wrote:hmm, UT over TXST - I'm disappointedSly Fox wrote:Watching Liberty's season opener vs. St. Francis on Uverse in my living room in Houston then hustling over to Reliant Stadium for the UT-Rice game if my credentials come through.

Will be making the short drive from ATL to Chattanooga to see the Apps SoCon and season opener. I expect a large caravan of ASU App Alumni to join me.

Re: What are your Sep 4th plans?
Back in what day? If you haven't been the past 6 years you are (as many other UT fans) underappreciative of the new fervor and improvements to the program. Hey we don't have 3 pre-season All-Americans because they're the whole team. We may be picked 3rd but I think we are being underestimated (yet again). BTW - the games are scheduled to be able to attend both. (and many are) This is an FCS team we're talkin here. Although it's probably easier to root for a money machine than go see an FCS tryin' to see how they stack up with 22 less schollies and 1/10 the money.Sly Fox wrote:Trust me, I have endured more than my share of disappointing Bobcats games in San Marcos. Everyone I know is on notice that if they get married during football season, I will likely not be there. The RSVP usually has two check boxes. Just do the right thing.AZGrizFan wrote:A motherfucking WEDDING.![]()

Just found out I'll be missing the first game in the new stadium because I have to go home for family health issues. F YOU, cancer. So bummed.

Ice down the drinks
prep the sides
take the ribs off around 10ish
pack everything up and head for the stadium for a 1:30 kickoff

We'll be looking for sports bars carrying SportsSouth in Murrell's Inlet, SC. The last time I watched an opener while at the beach was Mt. Pleasant, SC for the ASU/UM game so I like my record so far.

I'll most likely be up in Wyoming working on my cabin, and hoping I get radio reception so I can listen to Weber get pounded by BC

Wake up, eat, and kiss the wife and kids goodbye.
Go to Sac State to pre-tailgate the bus to Stanford.
Get on bus to Stanford and drink.
Get to stanford and tailgate.
Watch the game.
Get on bus headed back to Sac.

Drive over to Bozeman, maybe do some brief tailgating, watch us hopefully destroy DII Fort Lewis, then likely head home after the game, or maybe visit some old college buds (who I just saw last week anyway).

Texas St vs Houston game here in Houston. That is if I stop being lazy about buying tickets.

Re: What are your Sep 4th plans?
Ill be in Fargo with my ederly Mother watching The Mighty BISON take the field against probably the best team we have ever played, the #31 Kansas Jayhawks.
Good bottle of wine, some steaks, and we will be cheering 1st downs, because that might be as good as it gets!

Re: What are your Sep 4th plans?
The Gardner-Webb will get their season warmed up playing nearby D.II opponent Brevard. Should be a 60-0 butt-kicking. Not my favorite way to start our season, but our new QBs and other new players will get a chance to get some good experience before heading to Akron the following week. Kickoff will be at 6:00 so we will have a long afternoon of tailgating before the game. Menu is not set in stone yet, but I anticipate some grilled bacon wrapped scallops, grilled ribeye steak bites, and other food stuff. Plenty of micro brews on hand to wash it all down. Our boys have looked really good in practice, but they are ready to hit somebody other than themselves. Looking forward to a good season from our boys.

Towson plays Indiana on the 2nd at 7pm. I'll probably meet a couple guys at Batemans in Towson to watch it on the Big Ten network. Beer and wings are bound to be sacrificed.
