If the gimmick sells tickets I doubt if the NCAA will have any problems with it.GrizMadman wrote:The NCAA (if that's the one that can do it) should rule no turf color other than green. Any other color is a gimmick.

Big "if." What sells tickets is a winning team. I'm a traditionalist. The NCAA specifies, I think, the dimensions of the field, the markings, etc. It can also specify the color and shade of green for the field if it chooses. Far as I'm concerned, all the other hoopla can go on. Just leave the playing field alone. Maybe this colored turf thing is a flash in the pan. I hope so. BTW, was it Boise State's blue turf that propelled it up the college football ladder? Or, was it the coaches and the players? EWU needed new turf. The expense was the same. I'm just sorry it went for this joke, this gimmick.BlueHen86 wrote:If the gimmick sells tickets I doubt if the NCAA will have any problems with it.GrizMadman wrote:The NCAA (if that's the one that can do it) should rule no turf color other than green. Then maybe we could have them tell us what music to play, what ads to have up, when it's OK to play the music and so forth and so on.

EWU has had 13 winning seasons in the last 15. I don't give a shit if you're a traditionalist. Just because you have some opinions about the color of the playing field, doesn't mean that the NCAA should have those same opinions. The color of our turf does not affect you. Live with it. Deal with it. Cry me a river. Fin.GrizMadman wrote:Big "if." What sells tickets is a winning team. I'm a traditionalist. So, a red field is going to advance you beyond the first round in the playoffs this year?

Did the grass/green field do it for them last year? I mean I assume your somehow linking the colors to the playoffs?GrizMadman wrote:So, a red field is going to advance you beyond the first round in the playoffs this year?
If the green didn't do it then why not try something else.

No, but if the field had a red turf, EWU would have won.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:Did we play a home playoff game last year?GrizMadman wrote:So, a red field is going to advance you beyond the first round in the playoffs this year?

Then you have obviously never seen a game on that piece of crap field. It is easily the worst stadium in this country to watch a football game. I would rather watch a game at a high school stadium than go there again.futureodualum11 wrote:I like Boise State with the blue turf but red?...feel like it would burn my retina's.
As for EWU's red field I am not a fan, but it can't be worse than the above.
