That is what I have read. Holtz has yet to offer any of those kids just yet which is a bit interesting. A few of those kids seem like they may be more MAC-CUSA level recruits as opposed to Big East level recruits, but we'll see. We are now up to 12 of our 13 offers to Tampa area recruits. If we can get 5-7 of these kids, it would be huge. All of them have Division 1 offers, with most of them having FBS offers to schools like Washington State, Colorado State, Iowa State, among others.tampajag wrote:It's gonna be tougher for schools to get kids out of the Tampa Bay area with Skip Holtz in town. They're trying to lock down the area which is something Leavitt never really did. Gonzales and Williams will be big time players this season, I expect more offers to come rolling in over the summer. I wouldn't be surprised if the same happens with the Armwood kids, especially if they're as successful as they've traditionally been.guinzone wrote:Well lets see here. Head Coach is a former OL/Run Game coach in the SEC. We have a former FBS head coach in Montgomery. We have a DL coach (not an asst. DL coach, the DL coach) from Kansas that has coached in the Big 12 and Big 10 the past 9 years. We have a DC that was in the same position down at South Florida. A coach from Arizona and Akron. Three or four with NFL experience. A STOOPS brother. And yes, I can go on and on.
We are targeting the Tampa Bay region of Florida. Defensive Coordinator Rick Kravitz has inroads down there from his days at USF and it may pay off bigtime for YSU. We have offered 10 kids from down there for 2011, all of which have FBS offers and some of which that are being visited by Florida and Georgia.
Again, this season is a tough one to predict with a new staff and a lot of new personnel on offense, but for years to come we look like we are rebuilding into an FCS power.
