$36 gen admin bleacher seats only available inside the 20s but their is a catch. You have to buy mini packs including the NDSU game to get inside. That’s always a sign of a big game. Shades of SDSU, which no longer does that for the Bison game. They like to sell tickets in Brookings.

https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/udelaw ... ils/FB1902

The Tubby Raymond seats 22,000.

Hopefully not too many of the disagreeable Delaware fans here will be attending without some kind of attitude adjustment. It could be a great atmosphere and a good time.

Maybe they hit 11,000. I’m taking the over for what they are telling us is the Hens biggest game since at least 1970.

How safe is the Raymond tubby? It’s pretty old, built on the cheap and it looks like they are hammering away at it pretty good. Looks like Mankatos D2 stadium only bigger.

This will be the second meeting and probably the last. I can’t see them coming back for more after this, unless they need money. Then they will be back in Fargo for a single game.
JBB you have old info - individual game tickets for this Saturday's game have been available for close to a month now - you used to have to buy a mini-plan but now you can just buy the game.

The Tub did seat 22K before its recent renovation, which you'll notice on Saturday is still ongoing. We have ghetto looking temporary press boxes chewing up seats on the visiting side for this season - capacity is now in the mid to high 16K's, it'll be just over 18K next season.

The Tub used to be a pretty rowdy place - still can be at times, most of the clientele is in their 60's & up age wise though. UD won't play FCS road games without a return visit, they won't play less than 6 home games in a year either...
Only 5 home games 2016...

Yeah, I was thinking +20.5 to open, but it was 7 points more than that, and it grew.

The cool thing about this game is, there is absolutely nothing to lose for the Hens. Just go out and play loose. Pull every trick out of the playbook. Who cares? Have fun. Maybe shock a bitch. I would laugh so fucking hard at these entitled NDSU twats if we pulled off the upset of the decade.
UD winning at -28.5 wouldn’t be close to Elon (-37.5) over JMU last year, which was the 3rd biggest points spread upset ever, and the biggest ever between 2 I-AA teams. That was the upset of the decade..

Honestly, nobody will remember Elon beating JMU. People would remember Delaware beating #1 God's gift to FCS.

Yeah. All these NoDaks depleting their 401Ks, jetting around the country and leaving huge carbon footprints that display their love for fracking and their disrespect for winter wheat. :coffee:

But it's not a big enough game to warrant much attention, or even be memorable. Specifically in the era of FCS being a a ghost of it's former self. ;)

Agreed. I read an article on the Bison Report by a guy with last name Brake today saying exactly what I've been saying about the state of FCS. So thanks for the affirmation, buffalo press. Good to see people not in complete denial like you and Kalm. But I know you know I'm right and you're just having some fun, so it's all good. :thumb:

FCS would be better if no program had ever left it but there is no big decline. As some programs have moved from I-AA/FCS to I-A/FBS other programs have moved from D-II to I-AA/FCS and done well. North Dakota State is exhibit A. North Dakota State has done better against I-A/FBS competition than any program that's left I-AA/FCS for I-A/FBS did. South Dakota State hasn't been as good as North Dakota State but that's a very good program.

BTW, do you know what would happen if programs like Georgia Southern and Appalachian State were still if FCS? North Dakota State would likely still have won 7 of the past 8 national championships. North Dakota State hasn't won its national championships because programs like that left.

I-AA has been around since 1978. That's 42 years including this year. There have been five instances of I-AA/FCS teams beating ranked I-A/FBS teams. Three of those instances have been during the past 9 seasons (including this one). And all three of the programs that turned the trick during the past 9 seasons are still i FCS.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

93 - good summary of the downfall of UD FB except. The part about the antagonistic relationship. KC was fired about one month (or less) of Ziady being hired. Hard to even have a relationship in one month. The real bad guy was Harker in the firing of KC. Ziady was hired hit man that pulled the trigger. Rumor had it the reason for the firing was that KC did not tip well at a golf course.

"3. As attendance started to wane, yet another AD, Eric Ziady came aboard. He famously mocked Georgia Southern and App State when they moved up, asking "for what?" He too couldn't get any funds raised, and he started having an antagonistic relationship with KC Keeler, ultimately resulting in the firing of Keeler, the only coach to lead Delaware to a I-AA/FCS title."

Very valid clarification. Thanks. :thumb:

Harker was indeed the poison to our program. Glad he's gone.

He was a basketball guy from U of Kentucky. We got a decent basketball arena out of his tenure and a TON of beautiful buildings on campus, but he was a net neutral for football.

Net neutral was far better than the extremely antagonistic that Harker was. He even went on NPR and said that UD would drop sports like football before they would ever consider cost of attendance stipends. Thankfully he rankled faculty folks and others on the Board enough that he got the boot before he was ever able to fatally kill the football program. Granted, still recovering from the disaster that he was, but at least we're recovering.

He and his wife were good friends of my wife’s uncle, and we went to a dinner once at his house in Newark. The Roselles knew how to party!

BTW, are we all meeting up tomorrow? I know Ivy talked about a tailgate from some NDSU guys over on the AGS Board. Is 89 making it up?

Negative. Mrs89 wasn't going to be able to make it because her office is moving tomorrow (yes, on a Saturday) and the ICE rally in my county was literally outside her window today and they couldn't get anything out, so now I have to help her tomorrow because they're way behind. :|

Bummer. If you change your mind though I have extra seats so I'd even give you a ticket free of charge. Be careful of the rally, if they find out you're kinda a moderate they'll call you a Nazi and go after you.

There is a NDSU tailgate behind the left field wall of the baseball stadium. 93 and I are going up together and plan to arrive around 10:30. We’ll check out the NDSU party and see if any of their AGS deplorables are there. I think 93 already mentioned where our seats are.

I won't even be in Newark until after 11. I'll be over at the Boy Scout lot with my kids. If we stop tailgating early enough I might head over. I know where 93 is sitting - we had extensive updates on whether his seat was going to be installed during the construction. My seats are detailed over on GoHens. Enjoy.
