I agree. Almost half the conference should make you pretty comfortable that the best team is in the playoffs and will get their shot at it.AZGrizFan wrote:I don't think ANY conference with nine teams should EVER have more than half the conference in the playoffs. It's a moot point, though, because ISU is NOT beating UNI.rationalgriz wrote:
I think they have a pretty good chance. I think a fifth MVC team is more likely than a fifth CAA team.

There actually could be more than you think. When JMU was the #1 seed in 2008, averaging ~15k, we bid:rationalgriz wrote:I believe the bid amounts are upfront money for the NCAA, meaning that it is paid prior to the game. Not many schools can front $100,000.
Round of 16 - $80,002.50
Quarterfinals - $100,003.50
Semifinals - $120,001.50
And to top it off, the school made a net profit of $14,839 for the entire playoffs. Our AD had said we bid aggressively because of having to travel in 2004 after bidding the minimum and App St in 2007 (we couldn't have realistically outbid them either way).
I'm also not sure how attendance reporting and the NCAA's gate take factors in. All schools underreport attendance, but since the gate is due after the games, the bid money must be connected to this, so it must be paid after the game.
