Holloway is having a great night. Looks good. Another long TD. This time 57 yds. NDSU grows stronger. A good first game against a worthy opponent.

17,123 paid to see the game tonight.

Nice Drive NDSU now 42-6. Lafayette is a lot better than that score indictes. That score is all about The NDSU BISON.

Its over 42-6 BISON.

1) well played game. Both teams very few penalties.
2) Well executed.
3) Well coached

Hats off to the Pards they are a good football team. They played hard, they have good players and they are well coached.

BISON coaches kept the game close to the vest. NDSU has

1) a very serious threat in Jensen to Holloway
2) McNorton - Ojuri. Its a 1-2 punch that has a long way to go. Remember Gordon - Perkins?
3) Very good defense for the BISON, everybody played. Big night: 42-6

Zach Vraa BISON WR out with broken collar bone.

Well played game by both teams. Lafayette kept the game close until halftime. Great start to the season seeing TWO long touchdown passes, something that has been missing for NDSU in recent years.

Our sources are having a hard time finding a box score right now. This is critical information. It's unusual not to have it up by now but rumor is circulating The BISON had over 600 yds total offense.

Both QBs looked good.

The NDSU BISON defense was impressive and kept the Pards from posting any impressive offesive statistics.

How did Lafayettes QB look good if he wasn't able to post any impressive offesive statistics?

He was 15-21...showing that the NDSU secondary isn't very good at covering WR.

BTW -

WTF is with these "yell leaders" on the sidelines in the student section?

it's NDSU - not Texas A&M...

Luckily I found it for you JBB! And the rumor you heard was a bit off, as NDSU had 416 yards of total offense. I also would have thought that they would have had more than 18 first downs, but a good performance by the Bison nonetheless.

They had 7 straight complete passes in a drive at the end of the 3rd beginning of the 4th for their only score to make it 28-6. I'm not sure if the first or second string was playing at the time, NDSU rotated a lot of players on defense last night. NDSU does need to take a look at that drive.

My reference to "Both QBs Looked good" was refering to Esley and Jensen, the 2 BISON QBs. Keep your shirt on Chip and think about what you are reading.

A total of 614 yds in offense, most of it NDSUs, made for an entertaining night.

First and foremost the game counted. Its 1 down and six to go.

Esley did look good. Nice crisp passer with good mobility. He didnt get much time and it was all late in the game so I am reserving judgment on his ability to replace Jensen if need be. He certainly seems to have the capability and the more experience he can get the better. Thats what he seems to be lacking, but Jensen is looking real good and has that experience.

Holloway is a very good receiver. Gebhart was making a lot of good looking catches. Vraa was looking good but now seems to be lost for the season. We had 7 receivers making 18 catches.

NDSU ran the ball 38 times and had 56 plays other than punts and special teams.

The BISON look fast. The Gophers look bigger and maybe faster too.

Well, this one ended up right about where we thought it would. It was a convincing BISON victory over a very good Lafayette team that has nothing to hang its head about. They played strong, determined, physical football for 4 qtrs. You could see flashes and they had a great drive. When they face more equally matched competition they will score a lot more points. Their defense will be good enough to keep them in the games.

When you have the big play working stats like that can get out of whack. 2 long TD passes totaling about 125 yds without a first down keeps the first down count lower. 125 yds earned on long drives might generate 7-10 first downs.

  Hey Chip, Your post was totally inaccurate. You had no understanding about the 2 QB reference because you were ignorant of the QB situation at NDSU. I was well aware of what I was posting. You were ignorant and rude! You had your shirt off!

NDSU has some of the best QB recruits in the country on the active roster and wearing redshirts. The QB situation has been a focus at NDSU since Steve Walker graduated. There was a big QB shuffle this summer. Jose Mohler the QB that led the BISON to the Big Win over The FCS/FBS Kansas Jayhawks last year left the team feeling the new guys and Jensen were pushing him down the depth chart.

Last night was all Jensen. Esley got in at the end and went 3-3. He looks good, he has a great release, he looked the field over well, but he doesnt have any experience. Lots of fans are raving about him today but his performance may have been different if his snaps had come in the 1st Qtr.
