The CAA was the Roman Empire of FCS but as history has told us, its fall was inevitable and it has crumbled over the past 14 or so years. Similar to the fall of the Roman Empire that occurred over many centuries.

What is left of the FCS resembles the leaderless Dark Ages. While elitist Delaware leadership was blindly thinking that professors were more entertaining than Blue Hen football, a revolution was unfolding out in the Badlands of the Dakotas and the historical rise of North Dakota State was the 1776 of redcoat CAA football. A death warrant. Evil jealous twin South Dakota State has turned the FCS playoff into a merciless slaughter like never seen since the Roman Colosseum, but eventually even Bison fans got tired of the bloodshed.

You could say JMU was the visionary “Patriots” who planned and executed their escape from the old country, but not without a few sackings of the Bizontyne empire on the way.

In a last ditch effort to salvage the remains of the sinking CAA ship, The unwashed masses were invited onboard but they were so ugly, it drove the higher class crew members overboard leaving the ship to the violin players down in what was once known as the colonial city of Williamsburg, and those scally Nova wags trying to toss a few kids off the last lifeboat are eyeing 2026 as a new beginning in the Patriot….

Delaware is currently drifting west with the flotsam and jetsam across Route 66 with a new beginning on the horizon, but nature only knows they won’t be able to avoid the temptation of looking back over there shoulder a few times as the Titanic sinks below the surface of the seas…

In 2003 Delaware played all schools that are still in FCS to win the championship. Last season of DII for NDSU, who beat Montana that year. That was not a great Bison team, didn't make the playoffs. Montana lost to WIU in round 1. This NDSU team is not as dominant as others and will have a tough time today. I'm not going to cry that FCS is down.
