EWU did not play well at all today, so I could see why people that have only watched us once or twice this season could see Towson being the favorite...especially with their impressive win over EIU. No issues with that...I just think it's unlikely we'll play that poorly twice in a row. Like I said earlier, this season for some reason we usually follow up a marginal performance with a dominating one. I think it will be a great semi-final.

Usually. We followed up a very mediocre performance at Toledo with an even worse performance at Sam Houston State earlier in the year. I thought those marginal efforts were behind the Eagles, but then we go out and try to piss one away today.

I hope this goes like it did in 2010 when we played so awful against North Dakota State and still escaped with a win despite 5 turnovers, a couple of TD passes dropped, and giving up special teams TDs. The next week we laid down a monster game against a Villanova team that looked like they were a shoe-in to win the title.

And again, styles make matchups. For whatever reason, the Eagle D seems to have flipped from one that can't stop the run to a D that is pretty good against the run but can't contain anything through the air. Towson might be a decent matchup. Unfortunately, I'm coming to learn not to expect much from Eastern's defense for at least the first half of every game.
