DARREL everyone in america knows that NDSU wins FBS games and was in the NCAA big dance vs kansas. no one confuses them.. and if thats the only way you get noticed, than thats sad.

Tell that to the Bison fans on AGS who saw UND get votes after the Drake win and said those votes were intended for NDSU they just got the schools confused. Now that is sad.

 Good one Gil, its as close to the truth as far as I can tell. :thumb: It's an interesting phenomena isnt it?

Im with Lakes lets stay with the topic.

This is a tough game to call. The strength of the Gophers competition has been a lot greater than NDSU. That means you have to change the way you use the stats.

You can make an adjustment to the level of competition through the line/score method or compare the stats to look for strategies.

Statistics for this game can’t be compared head-to-head. They have to be used as a guide to the teams relative strengths and weaknesses.

Rushing: NDSU
Passing: tilt toward the BISON
Special Teams: NDSU return game and punting are superior
Turnovers: Inconclusive
Coaching: NDSU

Gophers best chance: Use run when you can, get that passing game going. Shortell is a very mobile QB. Maintain pace of 3rd dwn conversions

NDSU best chance: Make Gophers respect the pass with early big play. Run effectively and control the clock. Continue to create breaks on defense including sacks, ints and fumbles.
Dear Lord, We come before you and humbly ask you to grant our prayer for a veil of protection to be placed over Donald Trump. May your will be done. In Jesus name we pray. Amen

If NDSU starts off slow like they did in the last game it could be a long afternoon. I will also be intrested to see how Brock reads the defense and how well he checks off his recievers as well as if he telegraphs his passes or not. This last week seemed to be an improvement but he still has a ways to go.

Hey Backer! Yea, team speed could affect his judgment. Gophers will be fast.

Ive seen about 3 qtrs of Gopher play in the past 2 games. They can look good. They look strong and fast too. But they are often ineffective and prone to error. NDSU has eliminated a lot of mistakes.

Whats that avitar of yours beagle? Its reminds me of a 14 YO. You have a fascination do you? Your friends congratulate you a lot on your good taste?

One of the welcome improvements for the BISON has been the disciplined play. Laat year there were a lot of penalties. Both the Gophers and BISON have 14 this season. Thats a 30% improvment. I dont see an advantage there for either team but its nice to know NDSU has improved that Stat.

Ps. Are you 2 hired goons? You can go on all you want  Its good for your image :thumb:

University of Minnesota has relaeased some season tickets for the BISON game. I saw this just posted on gopherhole.com

Additional NDSU tickets made available

SIAP, but I see the ticket office has finally released the remaining tickets to the NDSU game, including what looks like plenty of seatbacks. At least they look like they are priced right - $70 for seats that would require $250 donations (if bought as season tickets), and $90 for the $500 donation seats. The "U" is looking to pull in quite a bit of that Bison money.

Taking a look at Big 10 and MVFC stats it becomes obvious this is a very winnable game for NDSU. Its what I like to call an “Overlap Game”.

The Gophers are near the bottom for all meaningful statistics in the Big 10. NDSU is in the top five and leading many categories in the MVFC. This game is happening between a BCS/FBS lower tier team and a top echelon FCS team. Thats where the two divisions overlap. Thats what gives this game a lot of interest.

Overlap = spotlight

Winnable? According to you, the bison have the edge in every facet of the game. That should make it a near lock. Anything less than a win for ndsu would be a complete and utter failure.

I think it is the NFL talent that NDSU has as back-ups.

 This is intra-divisional. It was scheduled in compliance with the "NDSU Scheduling Model".

Its a wonderful scheduling model and I am proud to say its heart warming to see other programs like University of Montana and EWU adopting it. Shame on Montana State! 8-)
