To answer your question though, a new 30,000 seat outdoor stadium would be needed to be built if that were to happen. :thumb:
I am not sure outdoor football stadiums are a reasonable option in North Dakota. I know late in the season....I sure like watching inside. Places like Fargo and Grand Forks are some cold ass places.
Well you could build another dome, but doesn't that seem redundant? In no way do I see NDSU moving from the Dome anytime soon. Great atmosphere and just enough seats... for now. I wouldn't mind having each game sellout before the season starts if that ever comes to be.

When does the HS football season start/stop in North Dakota? Or do they all play in domes too? :coffee:

I don't think any of them play in a dome excecpt if the playoffs are in Fargo or Grand Forks. Fargo North had games in the Fargodome but I don't know if they do that anymore. The season starts around the last week in Aug and lasts til October. With playoffs lasting into November.

I don't know about the fuckers in North Dakota but I'd love to see an out door stadium at UNI.

The reason UNI has a home is that when it was built it was built for football, basketball, softball, concerts, trade shows, etc... to save costs, just like the other domes. At this point I'd love to see a nice 20k seat stadium at UNI....However, that will never happen.

That was the reason for the Alerus Center, the only thing that messed up their plans was that they didn't know the Ralph Engelstad Arena was going to build a massive hockey arena that can host basketball and concerts. So now you have 2 rival buildings in a city of 50,000. I think after the 10 year lease is up at the Alerus which i think is now down to 8, I can see them moving out to a hopefully renavated Memorial Stadium and leave the Alerus to die peacefully.

Let me get this straight. They are not allowed to post on threads about NDSU but you and JBB can post on threads about UND?

The stat that matters the most is scoring defense. If we can continue to keep our opponents off of the board, we will be just fine.

Too bad you just gave up 21 points to the worst team in the MVFC, and one of the worst in the country. UNI is going to give the beefalos a Bitch slapping. :coffee:

2 HORRIBLE blown coverages on their first 2 TDs very early in this one. I'm not sure if they were just miscommunications or what. After those two mishaps, the defense settled in to its own.

We cannot afford any miss coverages against UNI if we expect to win. That has to be fixed.

I thought I'd look at how the offenses they've played this year have been doing, outside of the NDSU game....here is what I come up with

Laff (out of 124):
Rushing Offense - 104
Passing Offense - 42
Total Offense - 90
Scoring Offense - 102

SFC (out of 124):
Rushing Offense - 29
Passing Offense - 95
Total Offense - 66
Scoring Offense - 68

Minnesota: (FBS ranks out of 119)
Rushing Offense - 64
Passing Offense - 108
Total Offense - 110
Scoring Offense - 109

ISUr (out of 124):
Rushing Offense - 25
Passing Offense - 57
Total Offense - 35
Scoring Offense - 43

SIU:
Rushing Offense - 28
Passing Offense - 74
Total Offense - 45
Scoring Offense - 86

MSU:
Rushing Offense - 84
Passing Offense - 92
Total Offense - 103
Scoring Offense - 118

NDSU has played one team with that I would call a good offense, one team with an average offense, and the rest are bad to atrocious.

Yes, the defensive stats are impressive....but it has been accomplished against teams that don't put good numbers up against anybody.

In MVFC standings NDSU has played the 5th, 6th, and 9th scoring offenses (there are 9 teams), 3rd, 6th and 9th passing offenses, 2nd, 4th, and 9th total offenses (and both the 2nd and 4th ranked offenses NDSU gave up the other teams average for yards per game (or more).

Those numbers were for all games....if you look at conference only games, SIU, MSU, and ISUr are all towards the bottom (bottom 3 or 4) in almost every category.) In fact SIU, ISUr, and MSU are the 6th, 7th, and 9th place total offensive teams in conference play.....guess who is the 8th worst offense in the MVFC? That's right, North Dakota State.

If I were you I wouldn't be worried about your defense as much as your offense.

You have the 8th worst offense in the conference during conference games this season (which takes out stat inflator games against Laf, and SFC.

UNI is also the best statistical defense in the conference for conference only games...UNI is only giving up 4.9 yards per play throughout conference games...NDSU is only gaining 5.5

I don't care, I'll just keep taking wins. We've had one extremely bad offensive game but we still found a way to win.

Good teams find ways to win, and that is something NDSU has done this year.

However, my point was that I wouldn't be worried about the NDSU defense. If I were NDSU I'd worry about that NDSU offense. Statistically they are a bottom 1/3rd of the MVFC offense, and UNI is in the top 3rd of pretty much every category in defense.

If the defenses play equally well, NDSU is going to need the game of the season from their offense to win that game.

I only worry when I see trends. So far nothing has given me cause for alarm, our offensive stats are skewed from the SIU game which was by all means horrific offensively. We bounced back this week, if we struggle again vs SDSU offensively I might be more concerned.
