And the Western WAC doesn't want any repeats of that. If LA Tech got a C-USA invite, everyone would be happy.

Western WAC teams don't want to lose control, and add more far road trips.

Makes sense they don't want to travel but at some point they have to realize that the options out west are slim pickings and they need more teams. Of course I don't ever want to the conference to have to stoop to adding SHSU.

Which is why Lamar is their only option at this point. With the CA budget crisis there is little to no hope/chance of a CA FCS school “moving up” in the next few years. Montana has already denied the WAC along with any FBS fantasy hopefuls the WAC had. There really is nowhere else for them to look aside from the southwest region.

Fullerton’s smack talk about the BSC being more stable than the WAC was not off base at all. With pretty much all of the remaining WAC membership publicly stated they would rather be in another conference (MWC or CUSA); that pretty much said all anyone needed to know about how stable the WAC is.
