Whoever he is, he is a lot like other newbs that show up all the sudden and think because they have had a discussion in a bar about their conference they got this all down.

Look at the talk about potential top 20 teams...that's a moronic bar talk thing because the MVFC and CAA could say that same dumb shit at this point. We all saw this type of guy a lot with Weber when they all the sudden thought they were gonna be something to talk about.

You have a fairly narrow perspective when you haven't seen anything before. BSC is probably #3 at best this year and maybe #2 but it would take some serious stepping up to be near the MVFC.

Getting back to the topic at hand and out of curiosity:

As a McNeese fan, I would like to have seen this home and home. Would you Montana fans have liked to have seen it or are you glad it was canceled?

Bear in mind it would be early in the season when for some reason McNeese has done a lot better over the past 15 years or so.

I don't know any Montana fan that is happy this is off. A group I usually travel with has been looking forward to this for a few years now. Who cares how you do in the early season? We have been playing teams that have done fairly well the whole year, year in and year out.

After the first game this season we will have played every NC winner in the last decade at least twice each in the last 4 yrs. Not many teams have covered all those bases. We'd rather you are good.

That should have said "most of" in there cuz Nova & Richmond was only once and not in the regular season.

I am super pissed this is off. This was going to be a Griz game figuratively in my back yard. Don't get that chance very often...now I gotta hope they replace it with ANOTHER H/H with a Southland team...

So do y'all know what the rationale was for having to cancel the McNeese/Montana home and home because Appalachian State dropped out? That's one thing I don't get. I don't see why Appalachian State pulling out necessarily had to affect the McNeese/Montana thing.

Your new SLC 9 game schedule seems to have pushed this. I emailed with our AD and inquired and he didn't confirm this suspicion but it looks to be the most likely culprit. We did not want out of this from what I gather but it was seen as mutually beneficial to let this go apparently.

I'd look for both teams to be grabbing one FBS and one home game (likely D2) from this. It just sucks because I know it's unlikely we get another good H&H out of this.

Darn I hadn't thought about that but that makes sense. Another reason not to like having a conference with too many teams in it. To me as a fan 8 is about right. 9 max with everybody playing everybody else and 3 non conference games.

I guess that's the way college football is going though.
