Saturday, Sept. 20th
VMI at Samford
The Citadel at Charleston Southern I hope I am wrong. I think it will be close but I don't think it will be different from last year.
Wofford at Gardner-Webb Picking Wofford but if GW can pass, it may be the other way around.
Ave Maria at Mercer unless Ave Maria throws a Hail Mary
Furman at SC State I will predict the final score. 6-3. Don't know who is going to win

Just like ASU's loss to "bye" this past Saturday?ASUG8 wrote:Unsure about the others but I'll take bye over WCU by 3.
Oh, I'm sorry, you no longer own rights to the name ASU, it belongs to Alabama State or Arizona State, or is it Arkansas State, I forget which one. it's now Appy State since your move to the Sun Blelch and their mandated name change for the dynamic duo.
After your loss to the non-GSU or GS or however they are now known by the Sun Belch, this Saturday, you'll be something like 1-3 ? Right? I think Appy has a real future in playing non-scholarship, FCS teams.
All is not lost though, you might have an opportunity at an FBS win this season anyway. Troy, lost to Abilene Christian. Just don't bet all your lunch money on ASU, as Troy may just improve in the next month.

SoCon goes 2-1 in the non-conference matchups.
(the DI matchups)
Western bulldogs maul the keydets.
Mercer beats whoever Maria is.

Saturday, Sept. 20th
VMI at Samford (reluctantly)
The Citadel at Charleston Southern (CSU is gonna be hype for this one...no way IMO El Cid wins)
Wofford at Gardner-Webb
Ave Maria at Mercer
Furman at SC State
Tougher picks this week. Would not be shocked if three of them go the other way.

Re: SoCon Pick 'em - Week #4
I think Samford is one of the SoCons better teams, and gets comfortable win over VMI.
Wofford at Gardner Webb? GWU has a stout defense, and they beat Wofford last year. Wofford kinda struggled with D2 North Greenville. I pick GWU in a close on.
Don't know anything about Ave Maria...so, I'll go with the SoCon team in Mercer.
SC State lost pretty bad to Coastal. But, Furman lost to one of the Big South's bottom teams, PC. So...I'll go with a relative upset here. SC State finds a way to get the win over SoCon's defending champ.
And MY interest...Citadel @ Charleston Southern.
CSU won last season in a nail biter. But, they haven't won enough over the Citadel, or won any in big enough fashion, for me to ever make CSU the favorite over Citadel, especially with so few 2014 games to judge. CSU lost its top 4 recievers. Citadel lost its QB, O line, and has a new staff. CSU has absolutely no home field advantage. In fact, in 1998, current FBS member South Florida played @ CSU, and then coach Jim Leavitt said after a 20-0 win in which CSU was quite competitive defensively, that CSU's had a "home field advantage...but in a complete opposite way that you'd think". He was referring to his Bulls playing in front of 50,000 at the Tampa Bay Bucs Stadium....then coming to play in front of 2,000 (maybe) that day at CSU.
So....as hard as it is, I must be honest and say Citadel SHOULD win this game. CSU beating Citadel is still a mild upset, just based on history. So, I have to say I'll root like hell for CSU. But if I had to put my dog's life on the game...I'd pick Citadel, probably by 7-10 points.
