"A" for Effort: Central Arkansas

Post by JohnStOnge »

I didn't even notice the score on this one as I was traveling Saturday, but I happened to come across a replay of the Central Arkansas at Texas Tech game while channel surfing today. Central Arkansas didn't look outmatched at all. Played head up with Texas Tech on the line of scrimmage, I think. The Bears had a real shot in that game. Texas Tech had real difficulty stopping them.

I thought they'd be really down after losing their head coach. But it doesn't look like that's the case. Texas Tech habitually blows out FCS teams. The Red Raiders have no mercy and run up the score whenever they have a chance. But they weren't worried about running up the score in this one. They had all they could handle.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

I think our game against them here in a week will be a big test for the Bobcats.

I think all of our games are televised, except the Arkansas State game last weekend. But that one might be local rather than Root. I'll try to remember to check later.

You know it's a shame because I sat there and watched it but I can't tell you. I think a fairly standard offense for nowadays where the quarterback usually lines up in the shotgun. Maybe a little zone read type stuff...maybe...but the quarterback didn't make a lot running the ball.

Your description sounds like the new pistol offense ran by most colleges today. The first place I saw it used was by Nevada.
