Furman @ South Carolina St.

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Two mediocre offenses take the field in Orangeburg. Furman has won 4 in a row, while SC State's stifling defense has allowed single digits in 7 games this season. The big difference in this game is D-Line: Furman only has 16 sacks on the year while SCSU has an insanely high 62.

Here's my assessment of the matchups & my pick for the game:

      • Quarterbacks -- (push)

        Running Backs - Furman

        Receivers/TEs - South Carolina St.

Offensive Line - South Carolina St.

Defensive Line - South Carolina St.

        Linebackers --- South Carolina St.

        Secondary ---- Furman

        Kicking ------ Furman

        Punting ------ Furman

Return Teams - South Carolina St.

        Kickoffs ------ Furman

        • Furman 13-20 South Carolina St.

I'll go with Furman in this game. Much tougher schedule.

SCSU's defensive stats look impressive. Wonder if they would be the same if they played in the CAA-BSC-Valley? NO

Go with the SoCon team.

Yes SC St has one of the stingier defensive units in the playoffs.I think if SCSU wants to advance their passing attack must come into play and take chances when they arrive.

Easy win. I don't expect round two to go so smoothly.
Dear lord... please allow this dangerous combination of hair spary, bat slobber, and D.O.T. four automatic transmission fluid to excite my mind, occupy my spirits, and enrage my body, provoking me to kick any man or woman in the back of the head regardless of what he or she has or has not done unto me.
