Re: Week 13 Top 25 Results
The playoff scenario just got a lot uglier than I thought it would be at the end of today.
Re: Week 13 Top 25 Results
Absolute cluster. Whatta mess.
As said before, 24 teams is too many. At least 2 or 3 totally undeserving teams will be in tomorrow. All this does is water down the reward for a good season by allowing mediocre teams the same prestige as teams that had a fantastic season.

16 was fine. When does it go to 32?LDopaPDX wrote:Absolute cluster. Whatta mess.

I didn't like going from 16 to 20, but I will begrudgingly admit it has worked pretty well. But 24 does not. When 4 loss teams still look like playoff locks, there are too many teams.grizzaholic wrote:16 was fine. When does it go to 32?LDopaPDX wrote:Absolute cluster. Whatta mess.

Just like in bball..they expanded because someone got left out..then they expanded again because others got left out...there will always be teams left out, but do you know what? They should have finished business and taken that out of the committee's hands during the season.LDopaPDX wrote:I didn't like going from 16 to 20, but I will begrudgingly admit it has worked pretty well. Go back to 16 and all will be fine.

There are some 4 loss teams that are locks this year simply because it's a 12 game year.LDopaPDX wrote:I didn't like going from 16 to 20, but I will begrudgingly admit it has worked pretty well. Re: Week 13 Top 25 Results
I like the fact that every conference gets an automatic bid so that every team in FCS from conferences that want to participate controls its own destiny. And once you do that you've got 11 automatic bids so if you were to cut it off at 16 there's only be 5 at larges.
I guess that you could stay at 20 and have 9 at larges. But I think 24 is OK. You're still going to have very good teams that could beat anybody on a given day left out.

Re: Week 13 Top 25 Results
BTW QB Brian Bell played for Sam Houston State yesterday and they STILL got killed. He was limited in that he couldn't run the ball and that's part of his game. But it still surprises me that they got beaten badly like that with him playing.
I guess the report I read about him having a broken clavicle was inaccurate. Anyway it'll be interesting to see if they get an at large spot at 8-4 and the win over Eastern Washington in their resume.

I saw that Bell threw 63 times (4 TDs and 4 INTs). That's definitely not typical SHSU football; they had no running game.JohnStOnge wrote:BTW QB Brian Bell played for Sam Houston State yesterday and they STILL got killed.
