Big Sky Picks - Week 13 (11/23)
Portland St. 28-45 EWU — There's damn little of a damn chance of a damn upset in the Dam Cup
Davis 31-28 Sac State — The Hornets should win this on paper, but that's always true in this lopsided rivalry
NAU 14-17 Suutah — These two teams are similar in a lot of ways, but SUU appears to need this game more
Idaho St. 33-41 Weber — Weber always beats Idaho State… AAALLLWWWAAAYYYSSSSS!!!
Montana 28-17 Montana St. — Who do the Bobcats think they are!? NAU!?
Cal Poly 28-14 NoCo — The rivalry leftovers…

I agree with you on all your picks, except its apparent you have a bone to pick with SUU, so I say you're flat wrong on that one.SuperHornet wrote:EWU

I'm wrong BECAUSE I have a bone to pick with one of the two most inaccessible schools in the league?!?Big-Bird wrote:[I agree with you on all your picks, except its apparent you have a bone to pick with SUU, so I say you're flat wrong on that one.
At least grizza has some better smack than that....

I wasnt trying to talk smack, just saying you're pick is wrong. Who gives a fat rats sac if a school is inaccessible? You rate winning potential based on airport proximity? Makes perfect sense....SuperHornet wrote:I'm wrong BECAUSE I have a bone to pick with one of the two most inaccessible schools in the league?!?Big-Bird wrote:[I agree with you on all your picks, except its apparent you have a bone to pick with SUU, so I say you're flat wrong on that one.

My big issue with SUU is that they are patently incapable of preventing a 4-6 team from winning a conference championship....

We on for an avatar bet or not? I will be out of town hunting until late Friday or early Saturday. I will check back then...but from your silence on the issue, I don't expect much in the way of you answering.

I'm taking Idaho State over Weber, and by a surprisingly comfortable margin. Weber is just abysmal; they've been throwing everything they can think of into their schemes just to try and find something that works. Idaho State doesn't have much in the way of talent, but at least they come out with a gameplan and operate as a cohesive unit.

Go check out the now-defunct America West Conference, dummies. It's all there. SUU lost a conference championship to a school that finished 4-6.
grizza: Define avatar bet. You lose, you take on the NAU logo or the Sac logo for a stated period of time? I don't see how that would be very meaningful here. Perhaps with the next Sac-SUU game. Any idea when that would be? For THAT game, you're on....

Your team wins, you pick the avatar for me until, say, after the Chipper?
My team wins, I pick your new avatar until after the Chipper.
Forget it. I never knew it was so damn hard to bet. Look at GATW's avatar. I bet him, he said yes, and the timeframe was all discussed in 2 posts. This has been 4 or 5.

This makes even less sense than hating SUU because they are hard to travel to.
Every forum seems to have that one "special" poster. I think I just found him.

Re: Big Sky Picks - Week 13 (11/23)
63-29 for the season, not my best effort by far. Going for broke.
CP at UNC---The Mustangs are looking to finish strong, the Bears are just looking to finish...CP 38, UNC 17.
ISU at WSU---The Bengals are looking for win to close out the year while the Wildcats are hoping for bookends to cover a dismal season. Out in the elements...WSU 21, ISU 12.
UM at MSU---The Grizzlies are looking to bolster their playoff hopes and also to destroy any chance the Bobcats may have to get in the playoffs. But not so fast there...MSU 32, UM 28.
NAU at SUU---The Lumberjacks have been impressive showcasing the new Lumberjacks and not the old. But the Thunderbirds have been flying under the radar and are now poised to make so noise...SUU 24, NAU 21.
PSU at EWU---The Vikings are hoping for something good to build on and they do play the Eagles fairly close. For the Eagles, they are hoping to build momentum and get a seed...PSU 42, EWU 37.
UCD at Sac St---The Aggies have been impressive this year considering where most people had them. The Hornets woke up last week and realized there still are things to play for...Sac St 31, UCD 27.

Re: Big Sky Picks - Week 13 (11/23)
As far as the EWU/PSU game, here are my thoughts: While I do respect JALMOND's pick of 42-37 in favor of PSU, and YES, PSU has played EWU tough the past 2 years, even had our 1st LOSS on the Redturf in 2011 when we were down 4 "O" lineman and 5 other starters due to injury. Last year (2012) EWU had a come from behind 40-34 victory at PSU, but this is 2013! Once again, I will preach that EWU is battled tested from playing the likes of ORE ST, Toledo, SHSU, SUU, Griz, Cats, and CPU. In the BSC EWU outscores opponents 42-23, and at home they out score all 3 BSC opponents they've played 43-19 (I thru out our D-2 game vs W. ORE @43-14). So just looking at BSC stats, EWU 42-PSU-21. I'll just go with that score. Since this is PSU's last game of the year and their playoff game so to speak, they may get to 35 points. Also, Eastern is looking for 46 points to set a single season record for points scored FYI. I have tons of respect for PSU, but in the end, I think they are turnover prone, highly penalized and poorly coached. Nigel Burton will have one year left, then will be done and back to a DB coach where he belongs IMO.
