WOFF 7-14 NDSU
GASO 49-35 ODU
SHSU 34-16 MTST
ILST 35-51 EWU
- Best Performance: Sam Houston St. 34, (#3) Montana St. 16 - The Bearkat rushing attack was held about 70 yards below its average, but the defense dominated & Brian Bell threw for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 11 completions.
Worst Performance: (#3) Montana St. 16, Sam Houston St. 34 - It seems that something about MSU's psychology needs to change—every time they have a chance to make a major program statement, the Bobcats completely fall apart.
Most Surprising Result: (#4) Old Dominion 35, (#5) Georgia Southern 49 - Taylor Heinicke became the first FCS QB to ever throw for over 5000 yards in a season (though that's only because playoff stats don't count prior to 2002), but he & his team completely fell apart after the Eagles—who also ran for 602 yards—forced a redzone fumble halfway through the fourth quarter.
