Um, two HOFers are "obscure," 93?!?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

No, but your reference was. Don't make me throw a flag for backtalking.

Great game Eagles. As always! Hopefully people take notice we are starting to be a pretty good football team.

Go Hornets!

That said, I think the bad calls were distributed about evenly. EWU won this game.

Bad news for BOTH teams: quarterback controversies.

Sac: Will Garrett Safron's hand be ready to go next week?

EWU: Who gets the nod next week, an incredibly agile Vernon Adams, or a pocket passer in Kyle Padron? I'm not sure that's what the #1 team in the country needs, though if they play their cards right, it might well turn out like the early '50s LA Rams, who had an explosive 1-2 punch in Bob Waterfield and Norm Van Brocklin.
Safron went out due to injury. It looked like a hand issue, maybe a dislocated or broken finger, not sure what else would have kept him out.

Hell of a game. The Hornet defense kept us in the game but we had some terrible 3rd and long play calls that EWU took full advantage of (specifically only rushing 3 on the huge Padron scramble sticks in my mind). Hornets continue to prove we can play with anybody. No telling what happens if the Hornets had more time but no reason to hang our heads about this one. Congrats EWU.

I was very impressed with Sac State. Talented, good, size, and very physical. You've got a legit shot to beat anyone in the conference.

Ditto. Some might call it an ugly win but I'd call it a close win over a great under-rated team. I guess the poll beauty pageant extends to the FCS too. Sac State should not be ranked 30.. I'd say top 20 even after the loss.

The only gimmes in the conference appear to be ISU and UNC. It's a battle every week.

That play was unreal. The paper said it last 12 seconds.

I liked the Taiwan Jones comparison for Adams... he's an incredible play maker.

Whoever shot that video was directly behind me and two or three rows up.

We've been this way for a couple of season now and just can't get over the hump (I think we have replaced NAU as that perennial middle of the road team). I was surprised a lot of EWU posters though it would be an easy win and a blowout. For the most part the Hornets have played EWU tough for the past handful of years.

Again congrats on the win and good luck the rest of the way. Should be another special season for EWU. :thumb:

I definitely didn't think it'd be a blow-out. I think I predicted a one point win. Pretty close!
