Harvard is 418-216-34 at Harvard Stadium since the stadium opened in November, 1903. I'm too lazy to find out which road team has the best record against us there. My guess is Princeton or Yale in the Ivies. Both schools have had some long winning streaks against us over the years.

Checking CFDB, Brown has an overall 79-30 record vs Harvard so I would bet they have the better record on your field than either Princeton or Yale.

What are you smoking? It's the other way around!

Seriously, Harvard is 45-52-7 all-time against Princeton and 55-65-8 all-time against Yale. So one of those teams -- probably Yale -- has more Harvard Stadium road wins than any other school. Harvard owns winning all-time records, by comfortable margins, against every other Ivy opponent.

So?

First, "directional" is not a great way to categorize colleges and universities as it only indicates the choice of the use of a compass direction in the name of a public institution and not about its mission, heritage, or much of anything else. Most followed either the normal school/teachers college/regional compressive path or were new creations in the 1950s-70s, but not all. But, they only reflect a small fraction of regional comprehensives. Regional comprehensive implies a state-owned school with a regional as opposed to state-wide (or broader) mission.

Second, we end up with an inane argument about which schools are directional and which are not, including looking back at historical names. I am surprised that (Southwest) Texas State and the (Southern Branch of the University of Idaho) were not also mentioned. I am sure there are more.

Third, Virginia and Maryland schools that might be "directional" in other states are found throughout the CAA. Just because they don't use a compass direction in the name, doesn't mean that they aren't very similar to such schools in other states.

Finally, I find it no surprise that "Northern Iowa" would play a number of other similar schools.

And I believe we have twice as many wins as the next best team which, if memory serves is Idaho.

Since the Griz record apparently only goes back to reconstruction, then yes you are correct, we are officially 10-2 at "Roos" with MSU and PSU tied for opposing team with the most wins and the UM 0-fer... :coffee:

Oddly enough the tie was in 1984, WTF- 14-14

The first is correct; the latter, not so much. Since 1986 against Montana, EWU is 4-9 at Missoula and 2-11 at home. Idaho (last game 2003) was 3-5 at Missoula and 4-4 at home. Idaho was a good rival that we miss. They will handle EWU this fall.

I will save this and fatten up the worst looking crow I can find for you to eat on Aug. 30. The Eagles could be 0-3 by the time Montana comes to town. Yet another 0-4 start could be in the works. As Yogi would say, "Deja Vu all over again."

Just for clarification, by handle you mean a beatdown? Or escape with a 1 point win? Because I'm going to choke you with crow harder than your boyfriend does with his JJ. :coffee:

Handle means win; Idaho will beat EWU on August 30. Score is not important. That would take you to 5-16 against the Vandals.

I'll believe that when I see it. I don't believe that Idaho is guaranteed to beat either Montana school, EWU, or CP. In fact, with those four, I'd call the so-called "upset" more like "probable." The rest of the conference is a different story, of course. The middle tier would be in the "possible win" range. UNC and ISU, of course, are the near-guaranteed losers in our bunch.

EWU beat Idaho the last time they played in the Kibbie Dome. It's certainly not a no-brainer that Idaho will "handle" EWU. I don't expect a W, but I wouldn't be surprised. I don't really think anyone with any amount of objectivity would, either. EWU will need a couple take-aways and play a good game, but it's certainly not a stretch to think EWU could win.

You seem to forget that EWU came a few seconds away from beating UW this past season. Different years, different teams, but the differences in levels of talent are not what you try to make them out to be.

Yep. The same can be said for Sac and OSU last year or the cats and WSU the year before. And just like with our Husky game, the most talented player in the Kibbie dome this year will be wearing an EWU uni.

UC Davis
Aggie Stadium (opened 2007)

16 wins / 10 losses
Out of 26 home games in the facility, there have been 18 unique opponents (thanks, Great West Conf), so hard to say which opponents have the best/worst record. A lot of 0's and 1's.

Against (now) Big Sky opponents
8 wins / 6 losses

We were apparently better in our old facility, Toomey Field. 192-86-8
