Wofford's Ameet Pall goes to the CFL

No Wofford posters on here very often, so I'll post this.

Wofford senior defensive end Ameet Pall from Montreal was the fifth overall pick Thursday by Calgary in the Canadian Football League draft.

Pall was the 2010 Southern Conference defensive player of the year and finished runner-up for the Buck Buchanan Award given to the top defender in NCAA Football Championship Subdivision. He was named All-American by the Associated Press.

Um, there's no proof that he has actually gone to the CFL. That's not official until he actually signs a contract.

In any event, he was the highest drafted of four FCS guys in this draft. Teams also drafted a D-II (from TX A&M-Commerce AKA East TX State) and a NAIA (Eastern OR). Three teams forfeited draft picks after taking players in last year's Supplemental Draft [WIN lost a first-rounder (#7) for Central Michigan WR Kito Poblah. EDM lost a second-rounder (6/14 overall) for Ole Miss DL Ted Laurent. B.C. lost a sixth round pick (8/48th overall) for Wilfrid Laurier DL Alex Ellis.]

Yeah, that's crazy about Tonye. He hasn't played a down for the Bears (sat out due to transfer rules, after coming over from Alcorn State). I'm expecting big things from UNC's LB Corps.
