OMG!! An FCS team playing a DII team? I am so glad NDSU is so high and mighty but to bash the teams that do that.
I hope this comment was meant to troll jabber and lakes, but if it isn't, it is all-time dumb.
Note the facts, please-
NDSU was the DII team when they played Montana.
NDSU has not scheduled many DII teams as an FCS team compared to UND.
It clearly reflects more poorly on the FCS team that schedules a DII team more so than the DII team.
There's no doubt NDSU did a nice job scheduling during their transition to D-I, but the only real anomaly between the two schools was this year, the 4th year of transition. NDSU scheduled 3, 1, 1, and 0 D-II (or lower) teams during it's first four years of transition. UND scheduled 4, 2, 1 and 3 in its first four years of transition...note: this doesn't include OTHER "transitory" teams like UNC and USD, but only teams that still remain at a lower division level...so, for the first three years of each schools transition, they leaned on lower division schools at about the same rate. THIS year, UND took a left turn.
In 2012, UND has one D-II school on their schedule, as well as a 2011 playoff participant (UCA) and an FBS team, which is more the norm from a scheduling standpoint.

UCA backed out...replaced by Portland State. Fans are screaming for them to replace the SD Mines game.

Actually its to Lakes. He has bashed UND for scheduling down throughout their transition when other teams who are not in transition (Montana, UNI, etc.) do. So would NDSU be where they are today if Montana didn't schedule down?

Is PSU a non-conference game then?
