What is funny is how he brings up Fargo North. I come from a Class B school in ND and we have had larger attendances in our Gym for regional boys basketball tournaments than the quonset attatched to the Ralph can hold.

The Betty is far nicer of a facility. BUT once the SHAC gets built in the next two years, that with pass anything in the surrounding states in terms of a basketball facility.

Fargo North is my wife's alma mater and will be the alma mater to my kids too. I saw a pic of the new BSA (or SHAC) whatever it will be called and it is very impressive. I have yet to visit the Betty but heard its really nice and have seen games on tv. I have been to games in the BSA...very bad for a DI team. At least NDSU recognized the need for an upgrade and is doing something. I am surprised ol Sanford hasn't just given NDSU a check to cover the expenses to get the wrecking ball going on the plan. I mean if his name is going to be on the building at least get the ground broken on the project right away. It can't be too impressive for recruiting, just as the Alerus can't be too impressive for recruiting compared to the Fargodome (current attendance, and max attendance 19,000-13,500).

They broke ground for the new indoor track facility this fall. The 18-month project will begin next spring. This will start with phase 1 being the new track.

Well, in 20 the dome will be 39 going on 40 years old. I have no idea what the projected life span of the building is, but that has to be getting close to the end.
