Best Performance: (#4) Northern Iowa 34, (#16) Stephen F. Austin 23 - The Panthers weren't quite as productive offensively as the Lumberjacks, but a 4-0 turnover advantage made up for that.
Worst Performance: Missouri St. 24, Eastern Kentucky 28 - Bear QB Trevor Wooden showed he may have what it takes to replace Cody Kirby, but the suspect MSU defense again prevented a win.
Most Surprising Result: (#17) Southern Illinois 24, (FBS) Mississippi 42 - The Saluki offense was potent enough to pull off a big upset, but Paul McIntosh literally threw away that chance with 4 interceptions.
Best Performance: Eastern Kentucky 28, Missouri St. 24 - The Colonels stave off a late Bear surge with their running game and a timely kick return touchdown by Jeremy Caldwell.
Worst Performance: Tennessee St. 29, Jackson St. 35 - TSU picks up 4 JSU fumbles, but gets shredded by Casey Therriault.
Most Surprising Result: (#10) Jacksonville St. 17, (#23) Tennessee-Chattanooga 38 - The Gamecocks fail to show up in a big game, losing the yardage battle 508-224.

Best Performance: Holy Cross 37, Colgate 7 - The Crusaders become just the second team in the last 15 games to keep Nate Eachus under 100 yards.
Worst Performance: Lafayette 13, Georgetown 14 - The Leopards had to settle for one too many field goals as they lose a tough one.
Most Surprising Result: Colgate 7, Holy Cross 37 - The Raiders went 9-1 against the Crusaders from 1997 through 2006, but have now lost 4 of the last 5.
It's funny, I think this week for the CAA you could say the best, worst, and most suprising performance was all in one game. Towson's defeat of Villanova....
Best Performance: Duquesne 22, Dayton 13 - Dukes put up 452 yards on the always-tough Flyers.
Worst Performance: St. Francis (PA) 3, (#11) North Dakota St. 56 - Well, the Red Flash did win possession time by about 15 minutes. Of course that's only because they let NDSU jet into the endzone every time they touched the ball, but still…
Most Surprising Result: Wagner 6, (#9) Richmond 21 - The Seahawks stay in the game until the fourth quarter thanks to 5 forced turnovers.

Best Performance: Rhode Island 14, (FBS) Syracuse 21 - Rams hold Syracuse to 36 rushing yards, but don't get quite enough offense to win.
Worst Performance: (#20) Villanova 10, Towson 31 - The Wildcats are humiliated by the presumed conference doormat & add to the despair by losing a couple key players to injury.
Most Surprising Result: Towson 31, (#20) Villanova 10 - Tigers beat a CAA opponent without "Island" in their name for the first time in 4 years.
Best Performance: (#24) Liberty 38, Robert Morris 7 - Flames sack Jeff Sinclair 4 times & hold him to a lousy 58.2 efficiency rating.
Worst Performance: VMI 7, (#5) William & Mary 24 - Keydets do a decent job containing Jonathan Grimes & Michael Paulus, but don't do as well against Keith McBride.
Most Surprising Result: Stony Brook 7, (FBS) Buffalo 35 - After giving away a win at UTEP, the Seawolves fail to show up against a MAC bottom-feeder.

Best Performance: South Carolina St. 26, (#25) Bethune-Cookman 18 - Despite being outgained by 186 yards, the Bulldogs find a way to win a turnover & penalty-ridden contest.
Worst Performance: Savannah St. 6, Southeastern Louisiana 63 - Tigers convert 7% of their third downs compared to SELA's 70%.
Most Surprising Result: Norfolk St. 12, (FBS) West Virginia 55 - The final score obviously surprised no-one, but the Spartans actually led the Big East-favorite Mountaineers 12-10 at the half.
Best Performance: (#23) Tennessee-Chattanooga 38, (#10) Jacksonville St. 17 - Mocs end a 4-game losing streak to JSU in surprisingly lopsided fashion.
Worst Performance: The Citadel 6, Furman 16 - The Bulldogs fall to 4-13 against the Paladins since 1995.
Most Surprising Result: (#7) Wofford 27, (FBS) Clemson 35 - Based on Wofford's two games, Clemson should only be 15 points better than Presbyterian. I think we all know that's silly, but it's still interesting to think about.
* - I know UMass is still technically in the CAA this year, but I'm counting them as FBS and as a non-conference opponent for CAA teams.

Worst Performance: Valparaiso 13, Youngstown St. 77 - Trailing 63-6 at the half against last year's MVFC basement team doesn't really show that the Crusaders are improving under second-year head coach Dale Carlson.

VMI staying as close as they did to W&M cannot be the worst performance in the Big South. I was very surprised they were that close especially after their first week loss to Delaware St.
