AND while we're playing the conspiracy theory card, this is terrible timing from a football standpoint. Mickey himself said they are a loooong way from being in football shape.

Pretty sure there was questions about bringing Peter Rose to JMU based on some drug charges. Soooo, there goes JMU's secondary....

I'm glad we have W&M to act on the behalf of all the rest of us as a moral standard. Geez, you should have seen W&M and UVA posters going at it on the Zone before last week's W&M/UVA game. They all but wanted to dig up TJ and fight over the bones and the right to claim all good and moral things academic in the free world.

Today's lesson from the hallowed grounds of the College of William & Mary, never forget that W&M athletes are not allowed to register for classes before the general student body, now let it be known from this point forward, this is the standard for all so callled schools that promote athletics...

Well, this should solve JMU's one depth issue on defense, and that is at safety, at least by mid Oct. Apparently Mickey said the 3 Rose brothers aren't close to in football playing shape (I haven't listened to his weekly press conferences yet). They missed all of Spring ball, all of summer camp, and the 1st 2 weeks of the season.

-Jonathon Williams, started the last 2 years at WS and would have been a 3rd year starter this yr, was kicked off the team.
-Jonathon Rose, now a rSr, was the backup the last 2 seasons at SS.
-Peter Rose, now a rSo, was the backup last season at both WS and FS.

JMU solved part of the issue by changing from a 4-2-5 with 3 safeties to a 4-3 with 2 safeties, eliminating the SS position. Last yr's starting SS rSr Vidal Nelson (started LB 2nd half of 08' & the last 2 seasons started at SS), pre season All CAA at safety, has moved back to LB, where he is currently starting at OLB.

-At FS Jr Jakarie Jackson is back as a 3rd yr starter (he started the last half of 09' as a true freshman and all of last yr. 1st 2 weeks of preason camp he wasn't #1 on the depth chart, as Ryan Smith, rJr transfer from Marshall was. Those 2 have got the 2 deep locked up at FS.
-At WS rFr Dean Marlowe has taken over as the new starter, the only new starter on defense that hadn't started at least a couple of games.

My guess for the 3 Rose brothers is that they:
-start practice next week but don't travel for Liberty
-probably won't travel for W&M. If they do, they'll be limited to special teams.
-probably limited to special teams for UR.
-Either Jonathon or Peter will crack the 2 deep at WS and Anthony at WR by Maine (Oct 8) or Villanova (Oct 15).

Doubt any of them will start unless there's injuries to starters at WR or Marlowe at WS. They certainly can become valuable contributors by Oct...

Sucks that this couldn't have been resolved a month earlier......
