I call bullshit....the Braves won't be adding to that mess.SpeedkingATL wrote:Good luck to the Cats and enjoy your visit to the ATL. Keep in mind to arrive really early as there is a Falcons game and Braves game starting at about the same time as the GaTech/WCU game and the 75/85 connector will be a crowded mess.

Only about 20K at the Braves game. No problem getting there but getting home was no picnic.clenz wrote:I call bullshit....the Braves won't be adding to that mess.SpeedkingATL wrote:Good luck to the Cats and enjoy your visit to the ATL. You clearly saw something I didn't.catamount man wrote:It was a tale of the good, the bad and the ugly. Obviously, nobody is happy with the score. However, I can say this. WCU's new offense will put points on the board against SoCon teams. You could tell at times last night Tech was a little tired and confused on the 2 scoring drives we scored on but what constantly killed us, and we knew it was gonna happen, was our new young secondary. They just could not match up with Tech's WRS and in the 1st quarter it showed.
I am proud of the fact that our defense did shut down their running game up the middle and in the 2nd half, Johnson went to the triple option and for the most part, we held our own. Of course, having to play Wofford and GSU, it was good practice. Our score on the blocked FG was a thing of beauty. Wagner called 2 timeouts to ice the kicker and the Techsters were getting irate and then BAM, Rainey Ala bust through and blocks it and Isaiah Moore scooped it up for the TD. Wagner even ran out onto the field to celebrate and then caught himself. Even some Tech folks were like "Well, it worked for them."
I truly feel last night's lopsided score is not an indication of how 2011 will go and you guys know, I am forever optimistic. GT is an awesome campus and the parking garage where we parked is only about a 5 block walk through campus. We had over 200 show up at the CC pregame tailgate, catered by Sonny's BBQ and got to meet our new chancellor. AWESOME man!
He wants and said he will EXPECT WCU to start fielding a winning team. Looking forward to 1st home game next week vs Mars Hill. GO CATS!!!
