BOZEMAN, Mont. – Montana State bolstered the tight end position Friday, when Bobcat head coach Rob Ash announced that Tiai Salanoa has joined the program.

A 2010 signee who did not meet eligibility standards prior to the fall semester a year ago, gained his eligibility and plans to play at MSU in 2011. Salanoa was an all-league, all-county and All-CIF choice at Oxnard, Calif., High as a senior in 2009.

The year away from football hasn’t tempered Ash’s enthusiasm for Salanoa. “Tiai is a fabulous prospect as a tight end,” Ash said. “He comes to us as a standard freshman, with five years to play four, and we’re very excited to have him in the program.”
