Feeling is that NDSU gets a home game and probably a bye if they win today.

This is the biggest game in ten years for NDSU. First "Game of the Century". It may live up to the billing. A classic match-up between a prolific offense and a good defense. Kind of a boxer slugger matchup.

I am going to be going with the Colonials for what i think will be a defensive struggle for the most part. However i have been very impressed by the Colonial run game led by Russ Myles, this kid is one hell of a RB. They are not limited to the run either has Jeff Sinclair besides being a threat running the football is also a pretty accurate passer (22 TD, 9 INT). However the strength of the Colonials is the run and unlike NDSU have been able to put up points (30+ in 7 out of 10 games). Granted it was against NEC competition which is why i think it will be close, but going to give the nod the Colonials :thumb: :

There has been no word on television coverage

No doubt the offensive has been up and down. Fact remains they were good enough to get us here. Our defense was very good during the regular season. They only allowed 16 TDs all season.
I thought you said NDSU was gioing to bid 1.2 million
No, that was just the rumor. I think it was floated to confuse those that might prepare a bid against NDSU. As it is this isnt even as expensive as a lot of guarantee games. $30,000 was the min bid. Obviously NDSU has a lot of room in its bidding strategy for these play off games.

When it comes to NDSU, JBB makes Billy Mays (RIP) look understated.

However, the playoffs as a whole made less than 3 million last year, and Montana made 1.2 million (or so of that) in their three home games....NDSU wasn't going to come anywhere close to that for one game

Hell if we had that kind of money to throw around I'd want to see the AD and our HC get a damned offensive coordinator who doesn't have his head up his bunghole.

Anyways, hope the boys show up and give them hell.

Never flew to any game when I played and coached and not aware of any teams flying. So this will mark the first Colonials game via flight!!!!

Nobody seems to know where the 1.2 million rumor started. It was repeated on WDAY Sports Talk with tongue in cheek. It was also rumored in several circles. It was never reported directly to the Golden Arm "Official" Football Headquarters information system and a search of our data banks shows the rumor to be false. The purpose of saying
The NDSU play off bid is reported to be 1.2 million
was to spread the rumor and hype the game.

This game needs no hype. Second "Game of the Century" in as many weeks for the Mighty NDSU BISON!! 8-)

How will the team fly? If its a charter they might be able to sell the excess seats and more of the RMU fans can make the trip.

Both teams have good defenses.

RMU 186 yds/game rushing and they have a good rush defense. It allows just under 100 yds/game.

Both have stingy defenses. NDSU is stinger but doesnt have the offense to match. NDSU has 9 TDS passing, RMU 22. Otherwise they look pretty equal.

Looking at the numbers I would really expect to see a game that is within 3 pts at any given time. This one is close enough to believe a turnover will turn the tide.

By the numbers the teams are equally matched. I have faith the BISON can find a way.

The betting edge is strength of schedule. I used cumulative season stats and I believe NDSU has played stronger teams. What looks like a close game on paper should be discounted in favor weaker team by say 10% anyway and you have a clear favorite, the NDSU BISON by 5.

So much for the numbers.

With the physical condition the BISON are in RMU is certainly the favorite. So my pick is an upset pick for The Herd.

Right now the Fabulous Fargo Dome is under about 10 inches of new snow. More is on the way. This place is going to be a winter wonderland come Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how the game is described if NDSU gets to the championship. I'm not sure there are enough superlatives available. ;)

Snow fall 12.6 inches. More on the way with high winds. The storm should be over by Friday, the supposed day of travel for the Colonials.

There is no word on the QB situation.

The demand for tickets has overwhelmed the ticket office and walk-up windows at the Fabulous Fargo Dome. Ill be on the 50, my tickets were delivered last night by courier.

I have no idea how many RMU fans plan on making the trip.

NDSU did not practice yesterday and will practice the rest of the week in the Prestigious confines of the Fabulous Fargo Dome, several hundered feet above the NDSU Football Conglomerates top secret liar.

A little role-call from the RMU fans would be nice.

I dont think a team has ever come to Fargo either inside or out that didnt have some fans along.

How the hell does the NDSU defense score a field goal, much less two of them?
