6K? That number is a little too high. I'm not sure what the exact number is without looking it up, but I'm sure it is not 30% of our crowd.DaBigBlue wrote:I was very impressed with that big receiver #84, I would throw to him every play. Go Runnin' Bulldogs!
Back to the beer, only about 6K of the ODU fans have access to the beer garden. Takes a min of $1,000 donation to get the seats with the silver hologram on the tix.

Yea, I just added it up it's 4K on the sides and only 720 in the Gameday building...for 4,720. I was thinking the Gameday building held something closer to 2K.CAA Flagship wrote:6K? Couple of thoughts from the game and answer to Smudge's remarks...∞∞∞ wrote:ODU gives out free beers to Big Blue members before and during half-time of basketball games. Not sure how many they can get, but maybe CAAFlagship or JBBP can expand on it.
1. Big Blue Club is "private" and coupon-based. Pre-game happy hour and post game beers are a great asset during basketball season. I have entertained countless customers and prospects in the big blue room with favorable responses. Money well-spent, and love the environment where I know half the people in the room.....
2, My fraternity annually does a BB game at the CLUB level. It's nicer there, albeit somewhat detached. Kind of like the CAA tourney, its better to be in the stands vice the boxes.....people care more about the game there.
3. Football tailgating rules are really pretty simple. We tear it up for 4 hours prior to football games and 1 hour afterwards. No complaints whatsoever. Having contributed to the Big Blue club for years, football tix are the best bargain going.........
4. Gardner-Webb was the best team we have beaten. While many ODU fans are looking at potential rankings if we beat Cal-Poly, there is no better win than GWU. It was competitive and ugly, but we prevailed. Your receivers #17 (1st half) and #84 (2nd)were legit. Not as sure about your secondary, as we dropped so many passes. Not sure why more GWU fans (or cheerleaders or mascot) did not come to the game - cannot remember less visiting fans at a game. THe difference between even NCCU and GWU away fans was noticeable....
5. Similar to Liberty, I respect GWU and the standards they enforce . However, GWU seems somewhat like a perennial Big South squad, where Liberty (leaning on the bracketbuster game two years back) appears to be headed for larger venues.............
6. I live 2 hours away from Norfolk, but football and basketball are a priority, even with young kids of 6 and 3 years of age.......The intimacy of fans and coaches/players is soemthing you do not get in larger programs, and we enjoy the access!
7. Smudge, about time for you to cross into the dark side and partake in in some pre-game libations with our ecletic mix of american indian and filipino ODU fans in the Light Blue lot........
When Maxine Waters reaches the pearly gates, I hope St. Peter bitch-slaps her with a large, wet teabag

I'll find you this weekend. I was in the Light Blue lot the first week, didn't go to the W&M game, and then was in the Light Blue lot against G-Webb, and will be this week against Cal Poly too.JayBilasBitesPillows wrote:7. Beer, wine & Liquor can be drank and sold at any point during, before and after the game in the Bob Carpenter Club. At the del diamond giving level you have unlimited back and forth access from your seat to the club, no drinks in the stadium though.
