1) Speaking with people you haven't seen in years.
2) Seeing how much people you haven't seen in years have changed, for better or worse.

Best homecoming memory is when the whole family went to the game, got drunk, went home and ate dinner then we all took a nap. Upon waking, we all went downtown. Only time my whole family has done something like that.

My wife and I lived in Phoenix for six years, and we always met some very nice people when we would make the trip up to Flag.

The most memorable time was Memorial weekend when my wife was drinking Red Beers to ease into the day. Had three different people stop by our table and ask, "What's that?" Then came, "Can I try a drink?"

Total strangers asking to try someone else's drink. Apparently they liked the easing into the drinking part.

Cheap-ass Montezuma Gold tequila in a plastic bottle mixed with Tang in red plastic cups. Shivering in the cold @ 5-6 am waiting to get into a some bar (the old Elks Lodge, I think). Drinking enough to wonder how I'm not mentally handicapped now. Piss drunk and falling into the creek next to the Conoco Station just off north campus while on the way back to the dorm with friends. Talking to atractive coeds. Throwing up while talking to said coeds. Throwing up and interrupting my roomate and his girlfriend. Throwing up in the sink while meeting my good friend's parents for the first time. Not even remotely coming close to dropping to the required blood-alcohol level necessary to walk to the Skydome for the homecoming game.

Good times. I miss you, Flagstaff.

I'm starting to see why I've never really gotten that much into homecoming festivities of any kind,
seeing as I have a rather harsh aversion toward throwing up in general.

During my time at App I won best lip-synch performance and best parade float in different years so I look forward to those events just to see the creativity.

The most fun event for me is watching the Jim Wand hypnotist show which is a homecoming tradition at App. If you've seen his show, you know what I mean. And it's free. :thumb:

The catching up with people thing is fun too.
