Glad as always to see this thread Mvem, looks great so far. Please go easy on my Thunderbirds when the GWC roles around, we were so close to getting another win over an FBS opponent. Sorensen getting hurt and being out for pretty much the 2nd half and a boat load of penalties didnt help, :ohno: hope we can clean up our act and fast.

The only thing "surprising" about the Sac-Weber game, IMO, is that there wasn't more scoring.

I would nominate EWU's win over the Griz as most surprising. I was banking on the Griz coming out p!$$ed after the egg they laid vs Cow Poly.

Oh I'm talking about this last Saturday's performance. But I agree I too see JMU getting burned in a close one ;) the team is gonna be fired up. Probably more than when they played Ball St. Coming off a stupid loss that never shoulda happened and knowing this is there chance of redemption. Liberty will be a new football team this Saturday and I can't wait to see it :)

Great West

UCD 38-24 USD
CP 12-21 TXST
SUU 11-16 SJSU
NEST 14-55 UND
NWOK 14-48 SDK

  • NConf Record: 3-2
    Overall: 7-8

    vs. FCS: 1-1
    Overall: 3-2

Best Performance: Southern Utah 11, (FBS) San Jose St. 16 - Tyson Poots & Fesi Sitake each get double-digit receptions for the T-Birds, but a late touchdown dooms them against a beatable FBS.

Worst Performance: UC Davis 38, San Diego 24 - A win is nice, but I would expect any Great West team to thoroughly dominate a lousy San Diego squad.

Most Surprising Result: (#17) Cal Poly 12, Texas St. 21 - The Mustangs just couldn't get the job done in the redzone.

Ivy League

LAF 14-19 PENN
FORD 16-9 COLUM
COR 7-41 WAG
DART 43-20 BUCK
HC 6-34 HARV
SBU 30-33 BROWN (2OT)
GTOWN 35-40 YALE
PRINCE 22-35 LEH

  • NConf Record: 5-3
    Overall: 5-3

    vs. FCS: 5-3
    Overall: 5-3

Best Performance: Harvard 34, Holy Cross 6 - LSU transfer Andrew Hatch throws for 276 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 25 attempts to help the Crimson roll.

Worst Performance: Cornell 7, Wagner 41 - The Big Red defense just gets humiliated, giving up two 100-yard rushers and a 336.1 passing efficiency rating.

Most Surprising Result: Brown 33, Stony Brook 30 (2OT) - Despite 3 interceptions, the Bears knock off the defending Big South champs.

SWAC

AAMU 9-32 TXSO
ALST 18-15 PVAMU
JSU 21-28 GRAM
ALCORN 27-9 MVSU (in Chicago, IL)

  • NConf Record: 0-0
    Overall: 5-7

    vs. FCS: 0-0
    Overall: 2-2

Best Performance: Alabama St. 18, Prairie View A&M 15 - The Hornets shut down the Panthers and throw some early chaos into the SWAC race.

Worst Performance: Mississippi Valley St. 9, Alcorn St. 27 - Delta Devils can't rebound from 2 early special teams TDs by the opposition.

Most Surprising Result: Prairie View A&M 15, Alabama St. 18 - After leading the FCS in passing efficiency a year ago, K.J. Black puts up a lousy 67.5 rating in his 2010 debut.

Pioneer League

UCD 38-24 USD
DRAKE 21-48 MTST
SJCIN 50-7 VALPO
TAY 20-28 BUT
MHEAD 28-34 DAY
DVDSN 28-27 CAMP
WEBBER 0-41 JVILLE

    Overall: 4-12

Best Performance: Davidson 28, Campbell 27 - Kenny Mantuo runs for 181 yards as the Wildcats pick up a road conference win.

Worst Performance: Valparaiso 7, (DII) St. Joseph's (IN) 50 - Is euthanasia legal in Indiana?

Most Surprising Result: Valparaiso 7, (DII) St. Joseph's (IN) 50 - I don't know why I should be surprised by this, but I was. The Crusaders lose badly to a team Indiana State stomped by 50.

Independents

LAM 29-28 SELA
W&M 21-17 ODU
JAXST 34-27 GSU (OT)

  • Non-Ind. Record: 1-2
    Overall: 4-5

    vs. FCS: 1-2
    Overall: 2-4

Best Performance: Lamar 29, Southeastern Lousiana 28 - Cardinal QB Andrew Bevil has another big game, throwing for 417 yards and 4 touchdowns in a comeback victory.

    Worst Performance: (none)

Most Surprising Result: Georgia St. 27, (#4) Jacksonville St. 34 (OT) - The Panthers rebound from an NAIA loss by nearly stunning a BCS-slayer.
