a week old, but didn't see it posted anywhere......
Brian Quick won’t forget that final play at Montana last season, but he has moved on.
In fact, he seems light years away from the Armanti Edwards’ pass that skipped off his hands and fell incomplete in the end zone, ending Appalachian State’s bid to reach the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision title game.
Two games into this season, Quick’s 253 receiving yards rank second in the nation. He caught three touchdown passes Saturday in a 45-14 victory over Jacksonville.
Before last week’s game, Coach Jerry Moore strolled over to Quick during warm-ups.
“I told him to have a great day, that he’s worked his tail off all week, all camp,” Moore said. “I said, ‘If you drop a ball, don’t worry about it.’ He said, ‘I’m not going to drop a ball.’ I said, ‘Well, if you drop one, you just think the next 99 are yours.’ ”
Quick caught balls left and right against Jacksonville, making quarterback DeAndre Presley’s transition following Edwards all the easier. Quick even had a diving catch in the end zone for a touchdown, something he said was a first.
“Brian Quick can make what happened to him in Montana the best thing that ever happened to him,” Moore said.

People forget... and I hope Brian remembers.... that he had a hell of a game against Montana up to the last play. 135 yards receiving and that crucial 4th down catch on the last drive... not too shabby, imo.

I saw more dropped balls that game than I have ever seen in a game between two good teams. You sure could tell it was cold with the drops, because both teams receivers usually make it look easy.

WTF? Were there ASU fans who blamed Quick for the loss?

Very small but vocal minority.AZGrizFan wrote:WTF? Were there ASU fans who blamed Quick for the loss?
But the article was more about how Quick turned the drop into a positive in the off-season. He's a much better down field blocker this year and is developing the skills to go with his size.

There's always that very vocal minority in any fan base that just needs to shut the hell up.
Quick had a phenomenal game up to that play and they wouldn't have been in that position without him. Glad to see that he's been working hard since then and seems to be coming out a better player for it.

Agreed. Obviously it was a pass he should have caught, but shit happens. It certainly wasn't the reason ASU lost that game. Chase Reynolds was the reason ASU lost that game.AZGrizFan wrote:That's just ****' nuts.T-Dog wrote:
