1st game kicks off 5 days from now. Saturday is the 1-AA start for all. What are you looking forward to? I'll be going to a lot of 1-AA games in SC this year. Here is a few things I can't wait to experience:
A Citadel game with the sun setting over the Ashley River and the corp of cadets in cadence. Awesome.
A Charleston Southern game, watching a non-Southern team melt in the afternoon heat, and watching the program that does more with less than anybody.
A South Carolina State game, hoping to get invited to have some tailgate food on the way to the stadium, and hearing the Bulldogs win. Yep, I said "hearing" them win. When they are on a roll, the sound of the thumps of the pads, along with the legendary SCSU band playing, is among the best NCAA football experiences around.
A Coastal Carolina game, in Myrtle Beach. Go early when it's still warm up there. Can enjoy the tourist stuff still.
A Wofford game, just to see the triple option being run the best of anyone outside of Atlanta. And if you go, hit up The Beacon before the game. You won't regret it.....at least not until the next day.
A Furman vs App State game. Do I really need to explain this one?
Most of all, I can't wait to go to 1-AA games, and think to myself how much more fun they are in person than sitting at home watching a Big Cash Subdivision game on TV.
